Wow, Ustinov would be a huge step up for Hughie. He's not faced anyone fit to wrap the big Russians hands! 3 inches taller and about 50lbs heavier. Big ask.

I saw some crazy rumour floating about of Hughie vs Parker. Would be a fun fight but wouldnt happen in a million years.

I do feel a little sorry for Hughie Fury. It seems a little tricky to tie down a decent opponent who doesn't try and castrate him for the deal.

They had a deal agreed in principle on the 12th Feb, then they asked triple the purse. Now it sounds like contracts are out with Ustinov, and they're waiting on it. Maybe the best thing they can do is take a big fight, take almost no money, and propel himself up the rankings forcing the issue?

Why don't they stop announcing opponents before they are signed? Sign someone up or keep it shut.

I do not believe that they cannot sign up a halfway decent opponent for a sensible purse.

I'd probably prefer for his next opponent to be absurdly bad, so I can make a sarcastic comment about how great they are.

i honestly do not think hughie is good enough at present to fight contenders. he is yet to get his man strength, yes he can outbox people but his skills are decent but not fantastic. a durable big puncher would walk through what hughie had to offer and i think hughie would walk onto one somewhere in the 10/12 rounds.

hughie should perhaps be plying his trade against the sam sexton, cornish, bakhtovs of this world. chisora would still be favourite against hughie, and you could argue that dell boy is shop worn. perhaps briggs would be a good opponent, to see what shannon actually has left in the tank!!

just over a year ago i watched from ringside as hughie struggled against danny hughes. in time hughie could progress to put himself into contention, but he is, imho, still 5 gently ascending fights away from the fringe of world class.

Well I guess it doesn't help when you're second name is Fury, with the same trainer and manager. The opposition may well assume there's more money to be had then there is.

Then offer the fight to someone else. Not every top 100 ranked heavyweight is going to try to get more money than they'd normally get.

The chance of getting a shot at Tyson Fury for beating Hughie has to be fairly high.

There's no real reason for fighters to avoid Hughie if they are getting paid their normal amount.

Hughie looks like a lad who first walked into a boxing gym 6 months ago - instead of talking him up as a future Workd champion they should let him learn on under cards.

Anybody who gets a call to fight Hughie knows it is because they think he will beat them - so why not negotiate the purse ? It may be one of the few times they are in a decent negotiating position.

Ha ha.. I like Hughie as a fighter but they have been promising big fights for a long time without delivering...

Turns out its Nagy Aguilera. Perfectly good for this stage of his career although his camp have raised expectations higher than this

I wouldn't be surprised if he doesn't actually end up as Hughie opponent on the night either though.

I don't know why he doesn't just fight McDermott though. They've won the purse bids and the McDermott fight isn't worth building up, so just schedule it and get it over with.

McDermott hasn't fought in three years and given he's never been in great shape when active and he has a good job outside of boxing I'm not sure there is enough money there to see this actually happen. The purse bid situation is odd though

Then they should force him to vacate and fight someone like Sam Sexton or Richard Towers for the vacant title.

I don't understand why they are messing around and whining about all of these foreigners avoiding him, when they've got an English title shot to sort out.
