The aftermath with Adam Smith, Halling etc was just surreal. It was akin to something traumatic/incredible happening to somebody and that person pretending nothing happened and carrying on as normal. They probably believe they could actually hide an elephant under a carpet.

I really like Ricky too and though I don't give a jot about the 'titles' I hope he gets some financial reward now he's 'on the up' and before he's finally done. He's been a great ambassador for boxing.

Di Rocco wasn't up to much but Burns showed he still has something left tonight. This fight shouldn't have been for a world strap but it was and now Burns is a 3 weight world champion. Some of the comments I've read on this thread are disappointing in regards to Burns. The guy still gets overlooked. I personally don't begrudge the guy any success he has because he's had a rough time and I now hope he can get a couple of decent pay days on the back of this title win. Provodnikov is a good fight and one I genuinely think Burns wins (handily).

Yeah it took time for Hamed to develop his punch. I do think everyone's being a bit hard on Connor, he's only 19 with limited amateur experience. Plenty of time to develop. If it wasn't for his name, he wouldn't be so much in the spotlight.

More entertaining than I thought the night would be. Loved the Benn fight and the Nurse fight. Keleher and Limond were tough opponents. The problem for Benn is that he needs years of building slowly, but with his profile that aint gonna happen. Sky are hoping he`ll be a KO machine, which he aint yet.

Tough lad for 19 though. He took some big shots and all credit to Keleher. They were planning on Keleher for his first fight. I know it will do him good in the long run, but thats tough matchmaking at this stage for a virtual novice.

Great to see Limond and Nurse after the fight. Top guys both of them. Nurse was quite happy not to big himself up at all, never called out anyone. Basically used all his air time to big up Limond and pay respect to a guy who he obviously thinks a lot of.

The main fight was a joke though. Di Rocco was like a swashbuckling casanova coming into the ring to an Italian love ballad. Tough guy and took his lumps, but he should not have been in there. Probably an easier way to win a world title than Joshua had.

I honestly reckon Luke Keleher could have given Di Rocco a good argument.

I`m hoping bellow gets a sellacking tonight. Don`t think I could stomach the drivel coming from his mouth if he wins, nor Hearn screaming "Understand what I`m saying, Bellew is the NUMBER 1 CRUISERWEIGHT IN THE WORLD"

Did anyone else notice Buffer call Terry O`Connor Howard Foster before one of the fights? Was it me or were the refs getting in the way of the camera a lot tonight?

For the same reasons I want Bellew to get smashed but from what I've seen Makabu isn't a joke like Di Rocco plus at the weigh and press conference he looks very relaxed and calm.

I was just so annoyed at how bad the main event was I like Ricky a lot but I can't take him seriously as a world champion at 140 to me come July when Postol and Crawford fight the winner is THE CHAMP and that's that no one else matters IMO.

I think Benn will be given the chance to develop. Eubank Jnr had the similar if not more name value- it helps that both share similar mannerisms and that Snr is rather eccentric but he really was given an easy first 15-20 fights and was used to improve interest and bulk up cards on his name value alone.

I thought Benn was far to easy to hit. Good offensively but there's a lot for him to work on. Obviously expected for someone his age but usually young boys starting out are very cautious and decent defensively. Did he have much of an amatuer career?

No slight on Burns. I like Burns a lot, he seems like a lovely fella and he can`t be blamed for the quality of the opponent.

But that was not a world Title level fight, or perhaps it is these days which is a sad sign for the sport. Di Rocco was like one of the guys who fights all comers at a country fair. He was way out of his depth.

Hopefully Ricky can get a huge unification fight and earn some decent cash.

Be interesting to see where Nurse can go. He has done the hard yards and it`s time to move him up to see what he`s got. If he can stay switched on for the whole fight and get a bit more power into his shots he could be a shout. Lovely skills and looks like he takes a shot quite well (he was floored against Ryan but never really hurt from wheat i can recall)

Who should he fight next? Di Rocco?
