I dunno, Warrington boxed nicely on the back foot

I thought he might tire with body shots but didn't

Fair result - step up, interesting

Frank should sack him, he's already got Gary Russell Jr booked in as an easy fight!

Ryan Walsh, Kid Galahad, Issac Lowe or Dennis Ceylan next would keep Warrington ticking over...

No way

We want against the grain - BN / BT team top notch - remembering past posts on here about the best combinations of presentators/ commentators/ pundits - its here!

Edit - Ian Darke full set

Not a certainty he beats all those guys. I'd certainly take Galahad to beat Warrington.

I thought it was close to being a draw but didn't score it. Kiko is a great servant to boxing. He proved that you can get there with determination he's no Sweetpea but he's a hard wee fornicator.

Warrington will never match the level Martinez achieved. I feel.

Yep, BN/BT combo is excellent, even the sideshow comedy value of Ronald McDonald as light relief works ...A million times better than the sky boxing horror shows

if he doesn't step up to World Title level then these guys are the next rung down.
Ex Quigg and Selby opponents - Simion? Cayetano? Gago? Hunter? Gradovich?
He cant piss off the Leeds crowd by fighting absolute bums.
Featherweight is a tough division...

Very tough. All the champs and firinge guys like Frampton, Quigg, Barros, Mares, Cuellar, Marraigga all beat him no problems IMO.

There's still some cracking fights for him at Euro, domestic, international level though :TU:

If I were Warrington's matchmaker, I'd be looking at someone like Gradovich next. Gradovich could be billed as another former world champ and has only lost twice, but he's looked in poor form lately (3 years since he won by a method other than SD or MD) and shouldn't be a major risk. Would the Leeds fans be discerning enough to recognize Gradovich's current form, or the fact that he was handily beaten by Selby?

Warrington is a vulnerable fighter and at this point needs to be moved fairly carefully

Kiko five years ago would have beaten Warrington into the canvas IMO. Or at the very least totally bossed him.

I agree. Even this diminished Kiko fought on pretty much even terms with him...

Warrington has a good engine and has youth on his side, but at times he looked uncomfortable in there. Even with Martinez on the slide, it was a tough nights work.

I can't see them taking too many risks with him for a while yet.

best quote of the night came from dempsey when he said to bunce and jones "I've hardly learnt anything from you two over the years" and then asked them a question!

it's great viewing, dempsey just doesnt give a fk, he drills down and gets to the gold straight away and keeps bunce on his toes. thing is, it raises bunce to a new level too, because he's best when he's put on the spot. you cant let bunce go on a rant, like he does on BN with jones, because then he ends up being the whole show. dempsey has made a huge difference

I actually had it 116-112 Warrington. I thought Woodhall in particular was calling it a bit closer than it actually was.

They were shouting a lot for Martinez's big shots but I saw Warrington chipping away nicely and putting rounds in the bank. I definitely didn't see it 114-114 or anything like that, even though Martinez did have a few big rounds - a draw would have been harsh on Warrington. The crowd did go really quiet at times and you could tell Warrington got hurt, but that's the problem when you've got no power, people can just march through you and land their big shots.

Shame for Warrington he's got no power as he has decent other attributes, decent footwork and movement, decent chin as proved last night and tidy boxing skills, but just no power. Any of the top guys will walk through him.

Totally agree, Dempsey, even though he looks like Bert from the muppets, does a good job, he forces Buncey to be alert and coherent.

Even before last night, I wouldn't have given him much of a chance. He has very little power to trouble Selby.

Yes and no. He's a bit of an enigma is Selby. When he's on song he's fantastic to watch but can make things difficult for himself. I think he'd box rings round Warrington though. Warrington has no power to dishearten Selby and ability wise they're leagues apart. I'd fancy Selby to take a wide decision 9/3-10/2 region.
