He's done well really ,I fully expected him to become a middleweight permanently , just hope it hasn't drained him too much.fightfan95 wrote:Yeah, he has done the weight drop very well and professionally I think. I think he is well in control of the weight

Dom only had 1 mitten on as well... surely if it was injured they would try and hide it and at least do some light combinations on it.
There doesn't seem to be any reason why he would only use one hand other than its injured though.

He will make it
But will he make it well and feel ok fight night ?
That's the question

Re: Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence - May 27th 2017
It's all about the weigh in, let's see what happens there & how they look...Kell only a pound over a few days ago but that last pound is the toughest to lose they say...but on the face of it, all things being equal, I am favouring Kell to win this. Spence is good, but good enough to be rushed into such a baptism of fire so soon in his career ? Everyone he's beaten he's been 10-1 or more, no real power coming back at him at all.
They are obviously banking on Kell not being the same after triple G ..but he didn't take a really bad beating there - he was rescued before that happened, with his heart, chin and confidence intact I'd say. Unless things go tits up at the weigh in, I'm taking Book to upset the Texan hot shot.

Spence 146lbs 5oz
Brook 146lbs 7oz

Both looking good, tight as drums but facially not looking too drawn, not as bad as i was expecting ( Kell at least ) don't see any nerves there either. It's a hard one to call, but I'm swaying to Brook, those hands look massive & he's heavy handed enough to maybe give the inexperienced American a bit of a shock...
it's just a major step up for the Texan, his first 50/50 fight and he's gone right in at the deep end to take it.
Brook takes it in a war for me, but you might say it's too close to call, boxing news think so, Just read their laughably bad preview, where he didn't even try to figure out who wins, just 4 pages of "isn't it great this fight is happening..? "

Anyone bought tickets Viagogo?
There's some on there for £17.50, which seems too good to believe. With the fees and crap added it comes to £30ish each, but what's the catch exactly? Other than you're feeding the touting industry and all that stuff. Surely can't be right.

I have a terrible feeling that I am going to go and sit in a beer garden tomorrow afternoon if the weather is this nice. I have an 8-pack in the fridge. Really don't want to be pished by the 6pm start. I have stuff to do on Sunday.
(By stuff, I mean more drinking.)

I'm going with Kell as I always root for our own and also he seems like the underdog and I do like a good underdog! (It's the British way!)
Mind you, as my name suggests I don't know much about boxing having only really followed it for about 5 years now so I'm probably as wrong as you can get

Brooks biggest challenge imo was not todays weigh-in; its tommorow morning when he has to make sure he hasnt rehydrated over 10lbs as per the IBF ruling on rehydration.

I think Spence wins this, by late stoppage.
Re: Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence - May 27th 2017
I must apologise. I predicted Brook wouldn't make the weight. I was totally wrong- what do I know!
I now predict Brook to be hammered due to him being weight drained. Hope I'm wrong again, but I don't understand how he can be healthy making the welterweight limit.

Re: Kell Brook vs. Errol Spence - May 27th 2017
Rather see Kell at 147 than a bloated 160, for certain.
Hope he still can be lean and mean with good reflexes as a welterweight. Has looked massive - he's really thickened out - and that isn't always a good sign.
Last fight Golovkin was a fantasy fight - everyone seemed glad for Kell to look good a few rounds then pull him out and prevent him getting seriously damaged - & this is a "reality" fight.
Don't think losing this one is acceptable to anyone in Team Brook and think they want to teach Spence a lesson. Hope it's not a hug fest like vs Porter but if you find Andre Ward acceptable you can't really be too critical of Kell.
Brook if we're to believe him wants two more at welterweight after this one. So I'd be even more disappointed if he gained too many pounds after weigh in #1 and had to forfeit the title as we've seen Danny Jacobs do recently versus Golovkin.
Be interesting to compare Brook's performance vs Spence with Alvarez's against Golovkin, with both men having to move down a weight after moving up.

Just seen on BS that after the events in Manchester, nobody will be allowed to bring bags into the arena. No handbags even.

Can't find it anywhere who the judges are. Any ideas ?
Personally I think Spence need to win 9 or at least 8 clear rounds to get this on points.
At said he should be going for the KO and I don't think Brook can go late either.

Presumably this is an IBF rule, you have to be within 10lb I think I read... hard to keep up, do the other main governing bodies have the same rule?
