Did not expect to see that last night. Looks like I massively under rated Jacobs, didn't think he had the chin to take Golovkin's shots or the boxing ability to avoid them. Golovkin was frustrating, when he committed to the jab I thought he was having a lot of success, but then he started to try and walk in without it and struggled to land cleanly. I didn't score the fight round by round but it was very close and could have gone either way. Also surprised with the lack of body work from Golovkin. Right now I'd still take him over everyone at 160 but he needs to get the biggest fights ASAP because it looks like he's in decline.

He was a patronising prick to the Thai lad. Said something like 'you won tonight, well you got the decision'... Buncey wasn't a happy chappy.

Made a point of talking over Jacobs and telling him repeatedly 'we had GGG winning the fight' when Jacobs was putting his views across. Kept going on about the Canelo fight to GGG when talking about a rematch would've been more appropriate. Maybe it's just me but he was getting on my tits lol....

kellerman's problem is the same as most other tv presenters these days. they forget they are only talking heads and not the stars . i suppose he gets plenty of people blowing smoke up his arse just because he is on the telly ,but for me he needs to know his place.

Fair point. I think as soon as fight finishes Max thinks it's time for the Kellerman show. He's not exactly the most impartial of guys at times.

3G has never been forced to adjust. At 35, maybe he does not have that capacity.

For me this wasn't remotely close to a robbery, and it seems like opinion is split fairly evenly as to who won. GGG was made to look limited, but he was still landing the jab all night (CompuBox had him landing more jabs in every round and I agree) and blocked a lot of those flashy flurries from Jacobs. Jacobs boxed well and looked very confident at times, but doing better than expected, staring down your opponent when the round ends, and banging your chest doesn't amount to clearly winning.

I think it was a very close fight, and can't take the bad decision calls seriously. I gather that many of those vehemently complaining graduated from the Barry Jones school of thinking Jacobs bossed rounds in which there was little to split them. I still can't see how Danny gets the first for doing nothing!

i have watched 4 rounds in slow mo up to now (shouldn't have bothered with the 4th,it was 10-8 no matter what happened rest of the round) and the slow mo makes a huge difference up to now for me. watching the fight i had jacobs just edging the first three. in reality what i see in slow motion (others opinions may vary) is ggg landing three more jabs than jacobs first round but jacobs landing two body shots and a right hand over ggg. so on punches landed even ,only way to give it to jacobs is to give more weight to the right hand. i now score it 10-10.

round 2. ggg lands nothing in the first 1min 30 secs, jacobs 3 jab and a straight left (from southpaw ) . second half of round ggg outscores jacobs by 7 punches landed (4 jabs to head, 2 to body and a right to the body) to jacobs 4 ( 3 jabs to the head, one to the body). i now score it 10-9 for jacobs based on that one extra punch landed.

round 3. ggg lands nearly 4 times the amount of jabs jacobs does (11-3) and two more right hands (4-2). i now score it 10-9 for ggg.

round 4. ggg knocks jacobs down so 10-8.

so after 4 rounds of watching slow mo i have the scores at ggg 39 jacobs 37 . jacobs is 2 points down for me now, whereas when i watched it live i had jacobs up 38-37 over ggg. so far it does indeed look like i need to go to specsavers . i think i will watch all fights in slow mo from now

Thing is that Jacobs' work was often a lot more noticeable than GGG's. Those flurries were very fast and eye catching, while GGG's jab was not even though I thought it was the most effective single punch from either of them. I can easily see why some people think Jacobs won, and I couldn't moan if he got the decision, but I think GGG has a very good argument as well and he edged it for me.

It was a close fight , , Watching it live i thought Jacobs just sneaking it in , But the result was'nt that bad to make make me want to watch it again ,, What was apparant was GGG still has the footwork to close you down ,, but he seemed to want to get in perfect position before he let his hands go , and Jacobs had the movement to stop that .

He did'nt so much look old for me , just that Jacobs showed up his relying on power shots ... I don't think we will see Canelo soon , theres still enough in the tank for him to beat Canelo , they will carry on ducking him , because Canelo does'nt have the movement Jacobs has .. But GGG IS'NT STUPID HE MUST RELIZE HE DOES'NT HAVE LONG LEFT BEFORE HE GETS BEAT , AND UNLESS ITS SOON I CAN SEE ggg BELTING sAUNDERS NEXT and giving Canelo a choice fight now or i retire .
I maty be wrong but GGG strikes me has a guy who will not tarnish his legacy by bowing to Canelo waiting for him to get old .. I also think Jacobs would do a number on Canelo . He'll be too slick and hit to hard . and we know he can take a punch

Be interesting to see who Jacobs fights next. He's not getting a rematch for at least 12 months, so who does he fight at middleweight? He's big enough to move up and that could be a nice option to rematch at SMW if he gets a belt and Golovkin has cleaned up at middleweight.

TBH i'd been on the drink for about 8 hours by the time Golovkin came on, I was only on my own so I wasn't as drunk as it sounds but I was a bit tipsy and scoring close rounds wouldn't have been my strong point

FWIW I gave GGG the 1st, 4th and the 9th
