The sport is corrupt, disgrace, outside agencies need to get involved in this.

excellent fight. Both elite fighters but it was a straight robberyKilburn wrote:Scoring aside how was the fight overall as a spectacle? Did it live up to the hype?
I'm as disgusted as you but in fairness to Canelo what's he gonna say. It was close enough for him to subjectively maybe think he shaded it especially as he landed several clean crisp power shots.jamesmcdonnell wrote:118-110, what a joke. disgusting. GGG was classy not to call it out. Canelo, you classless, ginger pudendum, about how you should have won. Rematch, kick his ass proper.

Even though we all knew the judges probably wouldn't let Canelo lose, that one scorecard was so fvcking outrageous it's made me so angry I can't sleep.

Off the top of my head I gave Canelo the first 3 and 9,10,11. I thought he won those rounds clearly. So for me thats 6 rounds for Canelo. Can you argue with any of these rounds and say they are clear GGG rounds? I'm just going from memory here but there were a couple of other rounds that I thought Canelo had a good shout of winning. Those ones just stand out because they were two blocks of three rounds.
I'm inevitably going from memory as well, but I'll definitely take issue with your version of events. A flurry of eye-catching shots, not many of which land, do not equal a round in the bag - I hate it when I see people slipping into this mindset. From 7 onwards GGG was clearly dictating where the fight went, had the far better work-rate (yes, some missed, but he was still connecting far more regularly and frequently than Alvarez) and was landing that thudding jab consistently.TheLeprechaun wrote:Nightmare Roy wrote:CrazyTheLeprechaun wrote:Call me crazy but I scored that for Canelo. Exactly. I'd expect Canelo fan boys who don't know boxing to be influenced by that, but no-one on this board.Nightmare Roy wrote:He through a few eye catching shots each round, GGG pummelled him the rest of the time, it wasn't even close, one of the worst robberies I've ever seen.
As i said before I had GGG winning it but it wasn't a one sided beatdown. I'd categorize it as close but still definitive,Deserter wrote:Exactly. Khan was always gonna have it close due to the fact he got his head removed by CaneloCaptainSpacerod wrote:As i said before I had GGG winning it but it wasn't a one sided beatdown. Gary Lockett's no Canelo fanboy is he. Khan and Lillis had it close also.
The eye catching shots are all that matter!Nightmare Roy wrote:He through a few eye catching shots each round, GGG pummelled him the rest of the time, it wasn't even close, one of the worst robberies I've ever seen.
Learn how to score rounds then.TheLeprechaun wrote:Nightmare Roy wrote:CrazyTheLeprechaun wrote:Call me crazy but I scored that for Canelo. He landed the more eye catching shots throughout the fight and I thought GGG was coming forward and hitting fresh air for most of the night.

Canelo is good enough to be competitive, and he can clearly take the shots. I just dont think Golovkin will be able to beat him thoroughly enough to get it against the real son of judges.jamesmcdonnell wrote:rematch, kick his arse.
It wasn't a one-sided beatdown, but from round 5 onwards there was clearly only going to be one winner. It was definitive, hence the outrage, particularly at Byrd's scorecard.CaptainSpacerod wrote:As i said before I had GGG winning it but it wasn't a one sided beatdown. The card was a disgrace and I thought GGG won. But...Nightmare Roy wrote:The sport is corrupt, disgrace, outside agencies need to get involved in this.
