CHRIS ALGIERI - "First I want to thank Eddie Hearn and Matchroom boxing for putting on this amazing event as well as my promoter Joe DeGuardia, Star Boxing..."

"This is a huge opportunity. This is exactly why I came back to the sport, I want to be a world champion. This fight with Tommy Coyle puts me back in that position."

"I am feeling great; this training camp has been fantastic. I have an opponent in Tommy Coyle that gets me excited to go out there."

"On Saturday night I am looking forward to putting on a great show, coming out with a victory, and moving forward."

TOMMY COYLE - "I never in my wildest dreams thought I would be fighting at the mecca of boxing, which is Madison Square Garden."

"It's a huge opportunity for me, to go on and do something that I probably never thought would happen in my career."

"Saturday night I am going to go in there and shine like a diamond ... I have really improved as a fighter and I am really coming into my own now."

MATCHROOM PROMOTER EDDIE HEARN - "Tommy gets the chance to be in this fight, and completely flip his career on its head."

"I think the winner of this fight has to go on and have the chance to challenge for a world title at 140 lbs."

"This is a fight that [Joe DeGuardia] and I have spoken about for a while and can take Chris back to challenging for a world title."

I've had a few quid on Andy Ruiz to win by stoppage.

Not much, but this is Tyson v Buster Douglas stuff - AJ is going to get flattened one day...its only a case of when....

At these odds a few quid on Ruiz is a shot to nothing for sweet payoff if the unthinkable happens.

It's not even close to Mike Tyson. Those who think it is weren't around or paying much attention if they were.

Anthony Joshua, the 6-feet-6 weighed in at 247½ pounds

Andy Ruiz Jr. The 6-feet-2 Ruiz was 268 pounds when he got on the NYSAC’s scale.

Ruiz came in six pounds heavier than the 262 pounds he weighed for his last fight, just six weeks ago.

Hi chaps!
I just checked the TV guide. For me the coverage goes from 9am to 4:30pm this Sunday.
Can anyone predict what fights might be worth watching please?

Wife is paying for it and wants to see the Taylor fight. Other than that, is there another on the card worth giving up my precious Sunday for?

Taylor will most likely be either before main event, or even before Smith-N’Dam.

Defo last 3 bouts.

OK. Ta for that.
Weather forcast is primo for Sunday and I don't wanna be stuck inside fast forwarding my day away. Also my telly cops a fair amount of glare when it's sunny and I don't have curtains.

This has got Joshua v early written all over it.

Ruiz is going to be completely immobile and that’s the perfect opponent for Joshua. Can’t see any shades of Lewis v Rahman and certainly not Tyson v Douglas. Based on the weigh-in, he’s done his training and looks in perfect nick. I will be putting a moderate amount on 1 or 2 round KO.

When has Ruiz ever been immobile ? Let alone completely immobile ? He’s got very very fast hands, fast feet, very good varied and fast combinations, great chin, good jab and punches on his way in and on way out and with plenty of lateral and head movement to go with it, he will cause plenty of problems imo, his undoing and what will let him down will be he just won’t be big enough that’s it, what gives anyone the opinion that this will be a 1-2 round blowout is beyond me, Joshua stoppage % on his record doesn’t tell the full story, he’s most certainly not a 1 punch knockout artist or massive concussive puncher to take Ruiz out imo who has never shown any signs of fragility in that department, also Joshua’s inactivity and fighting a smaller, more mobile and faster man will add to problems, Ruiz has spent his while fighting career fighting bigger men hence the way he works his way in beyond his jab and head movement so it’s nothing new to him, I’m personally not sold on Joshua, for me it is only a matter of time before he comes a cropper, he’s lucky in many ways the era that he is in with the other heavyweights about, fury beats him easily and I’ve always said it, for me Joshua is a modern Frank Bruno, just my opinion not saying I’m right but it’s just what I think

The only real risk for Joshua is gassing like he almost did versus Wlad. If he starts breathing out of his arse Ruiz will do him. His cardio is excellent for his size.
