Froch claims that Ward's fighting style is borderline cheating. Do you agree ?

The same people who say Ward is dirty will claim that Hatton should've been allowed to fight dirty against Mayweather

Yep, they also framed Tyson, Taylor, Mayweather, Broner, Wade, etc. who never did anything wrong.

Wasn't this gone over adnauseam between Beard and Vogel already?! Sheesh!ironbeard wrote: ↑10 Sep 2019, 12:27Box_of_Endless_Tears you are.boxing_rocks wrote: ↑10 Sep 2019, 11:30
No, they lost because refs allowed continuous blatant fowling by Ward. Kovalev "lost" in their first fight, because for one reason or another, judges decided to rob him from an obvious clear victory.![]()

Froch and Kovalev should've taken Michael Moorer's post fight advice to Frankie Swindell, and Ward should've said just that.
"Quit being a bitch and take this defeat,"
"Quit being a bitch and take this defeat,"

No, no, no, no, noooo.
Vogel was reprimanding me for having the audacity to think that it is possible to compare boxers from different eras who have no common opponents.

I can't believe this poll is as close as it is.

There were obviously low blows, denying that just makes one look like a Wardboi. Ward had taken control and legitimately hurt Kov, he really didn't need to stray low and could've won with a lot fewer questions if he hadn't krushed the krushers balls. If you actually watch the video rather than the cherry picked photos, he's hitting even below the writing on Kov's shorts, which is not merely boarderline.
Would've liked to see Ward test himself at CW, he was a great fighter (some ppl say the Ward fights show Kov was overrated, to me Kov hanging with Ward shows just how good he was) and maybe could've successfully done it.

Some people have argued that Kovalev should have hit him back in the NUTZ. According to some he did this.
I watched ROy Jones Jr and Hopkins 2 again last night. Don't ask me why, was a terrible fight.
Hopkins repeatedly low blowed Jones, Jones at times retaliated. When he did, Hopkins dropped to the ground and was given time to recover. Is this what Kovalev should have done? If he did this my feeling are he would have been given a count. So he complained to the ref like Hopkins did but didn't roll on the floor crying. He was then stopped on a NUT shot.
How do you deal with this. You shouldn't, the ref should be doing there job, he didn't.

I just wanna say that Kovalev stoppage was bullshit. Ward hit him in the balls. Of course you CAN blame the referee but... that just leaves a bad taste in mouth raising yer hands and telling you trained for a knockout. I wonder how many guys with busted balls left the sparring session.

Sure, but if it's obvious the ref is allowing or not allowing something, it is your job as fighter to adjust. Floyd does this a lot. When a fighter gets rough, he roughs them back.

There were 3 of these in a row. This is the end of the fight. Nuff said

I'm aware it happens in Boxing. I'm also aware it shouldn't be the way a KO victory is attained.kbackup408 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019, 10:16This happens in boxing not saying its fair but getting hit low in a combat sport is very low on the sin list![]()

The irony is Kovalev's elbows hang low enough that he could've blocked it.gilgamesh wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019, 10:17I'm aware it happens in Boxing. I'm also aware it shouldn't be the way a KO victory is attained.kbackup408 wrote: ↑12 Sep 2019, 10:16

Ya, I mean watching that, it's not at all as if the punch is clearly below the elbow of a guy who already has his elbow below his waste

The last shots hit the bottom of the b on his trunks, it is clear they make contact there and that is not the beltline at all. I think it's pretty obvious the final shots were low and that the outright denyers are just as biased, Ward was gonna finish him anyway so it's a shame he didn't do it in a more legit way.
He was a smart fighter though and knew exactly what approach to take when he couldnt outbox Kov outside. Understood his weaknesses perfectly.
