I think they would edit the replay? They couldn’t let a swear go out at midday and just cover themselves with an apology.

On a scripted show certainly not but for a live combat event maybe there's a bit of allowance and it's tricky to catch all the swears before the early broadcast??

A disclaimer would probably cover it though like the fella above said but does anybody know the rules??

It used to be automated. So back when someone died on a sky live broadcast it would go out again twice before the Sunday had finished without edits.

I can’t imagine they ever edited a single broadcast repeat. Even when Eubank did the Tythson ith innothent routine.

There shouldn’t be any excuse for it nowadays. The TV channels I used to work for had a transmission team who would watch the shows as they played live and, in the rare occassions there were issues, mark the shows as being unsuitable to repeat. If there was an issue part way through a show such as swearing then they’d just flag that to one of the editors who’d sort before it’s then repeated. That was as of 2 years ago but in may have been different 20 years or so ago.

Surely they have a slight time delay? I know “live” radio has something like 7 seconds.

RATM tested it a few years back and got cut. Since black grape did Chris Evans over on TFI there’s also a delay on live shows like that.

It’s not much. Will be around 5 seconds I think. If they’re expecting swearing then they’ll be on it e.g. if they’re screening the press conference but they won’t be ready to go for something mid fight.

Why to what? They won’t ever really try to stop a swear word from a corner but if they’re showing a press conference with Fury at 2pm on a Wednesday then they’ll be all over the mute button.

The UFC are always primed for it in their post fight interviews.

the thingy with the 50-0, and all the talk before that of surpassing 49-0, wasnt about the quality of record tbf, but having the highest number of wins while remaining with a 100 percent win rate.

otherwise marciano's 49-0 would never have been such a big deal, because the quality of the record falls way short of many atgs

Just went and looked at it and there were only 27 fights out of those 90 that were even decent.Ill be honest if hed just had those 27 or 28 guys with winning records former champs etc would have been much more impressive than the actual 90.0.1

if you want something way more padded than that, check out marty jakubowski (ko'd 2x by chavy) . he went to 37-0 and was also 89-1 at one point

He had a lot of keep busy fights but as he was fighting so regularly he still had a few proper fights each year.
I don't really see that as padded.
But yes him being 89-0 wasn't better than PBF, however I don't begrudge JCC having those ticking over fights.
Your Buck Smiths of this world had records littered with tomato cans which got them some big fights which they normally lost.
