Stopped listening to Brendan about 1994. Beat the WBO. IBF, WBA and WBC champions within the next 5 years. 7 years later, lost on points to a legend after a shambolic training camp.

Barrera is underrated even though he is held in high esteem. He was truly outstanding and simply too good for Naz any day.
Agree with the above poster that Naz underachieved. He had a great career up until the Barrera loss. Had he taken defeat better there was still lots he could have done.
I wonder if 9/11 rattled him a bit?

Yeah I recall Steward's exasperation in a documentary which showed him training him before the Barrera fight (I think it was that fight) saying how Naz wasn't preparing properly.
Let's face it, Hamed was an arrogant bellend. He thought that it was all about his talent, rather than the hard work and the skills that Ingle taught him.

Yeah, it used to be a regular venue. It was just with you saying balcony. He over-achieved.
The hype about how good he supposedly was in 94/95 was nonsense when you look back at those fights on mute..
We were waiting 8-9 years for some amazing Belcastro-like performance, it never came because he wasn't fighting at European level anymore, he was fighting at world level.
