It seems the Stensky 2 fight was his second attempt at winning the 'prestigious' GBF title, he'd previously fought for it unsuccessfully in 2014 in this turgid encounter with Zsolt Bogdan.
I actually watched this at the time on a livestream (it cut off after seven rounds) and recall it was for a spurious title of some sort but when I looked today.
Our justice system is fornicating laughable. How do you give someone a brain injury and get only 3 years?!

Most of Williams post Chisora 'career' has been spent wandering around Eastern Europe, so if the fights ever turn up on YouTube the MC's introductions are in the language of the appropriate country and you can guarantee that the only words you understand will be 'Danny Williams, Brixton Bomber, England and ....MIKE TYSON'

I was wondering if there is a time limit on the achievement?
It got me to thinking if the a billing of the man who beat Muhammad Ali would sell tickets to casuals and I realised there's only one of those left alive.
Berbick, Frazier, Norton & Spinks are all gone. That just leaves a 73 year old Larry Holmes but I still wouldn't fancy this guy or any other white collar boxer's chances against him.

I think Williams's conquering of an aged Tyson ceased to be relevant once Tyson was counted out.
It's bonkers that they're still selling Williams off the back of it.
Like you said, they might as well do the same with Holmes.

Because it never really leaves a fighter. Danny Williams just happens to be one of those old school guys that found a different avenue to perpetually stay in the game. Used to be more frequent in the '80s and prior where ex fighters continuously kept fighting in the semi-pro circuit. I can't really knock it if the man is happy I'm reminded of Jem Mace who continued to do boxing exhibitions into his seventies.

Doesn't he do it to put his kids through private school? Sure I read that somewhere. Once you've committed them to it must be hard to think of pulling them out to put in the local comp. From their point of view, sure they'd rather have a functioning dad though.

Has anyone seen the open letter from Derek 'Sweet D' Williams to Danny in the 15th Dec edition of Boxing News?
Not only does Sweet D try and convince Danny to hang 'em up, he also criticises the promoters who use Danny to 'pad the records of their average prospects', and questions whether the venues he fights at are equipped with all the necessary equipment to keep the boxers safe.

I have often wondered about the "addiction " side to boxing. The training is often one of the most routine based training you get. When you see Mike Tyson working the pads now on YouTube it's the same routine practically to the punch that he did in his 20s. Does it become a bit like cigarettes, even though you know its wrong and might not even like it..it is a habit that has been instilled.

I think so, I guess if all you’ve ever known is training and boxing and that stops unless you have something to fill the gap it’s hard to walk away. I feel sorry for a lot of fighters, it’s a hard and brutal sport that can result in long term health issues down the line, most don’t earn much money and don’t know anything else. In Danny’s case I don’t really get why he continues as he can’t be earning enough to make a huge difference to his life. I know he done a bodyguard course years ago, surely he’d earn more doing that.
