It wasn’t a great fight at all. It was crap.

Lomachenko turns out to be not as good as everyone thought. He's still exceptional but not good enough to beat Lopez. Mayweather would have picked him apart.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs Teofimo Lopez 17/10/20
I had a draw. It was close in any case, so the cards sucked. Gotta rewatch it, I felt it either going after the live watch, but a 115-113 type of a dec, not the sh!t we have.

Loma fault for throwing 6 punches per round for the first 6 rounds.

Wasn't easy

True, it looked as a tough fight for both.

Wasn't able to stay up and watch this one but lots of people saying Loma basically gave away the first six rounds, boxing defensively and not throwing much ...and then came on stronger and won much of the second half of the fight. But left it too late. Lots suggesting Lopez 7 rounds to 5.
Sounds like Loma messed up and left himself too much to do. Will have to watch it now.

Been saying for a while that loma was fighting too high. Didn't see that result coming though

Will Lopez now move up and fight Taylor or Ramirez once they collect all the belts? He’s mentioned it before. All 3 with Top Rank. Pretty much undisputed v undisputed.

For anyone interested in a breakdown in the scoring stats, round by round how fans scored the fight.
Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs Teofimo Lopez 17/10/20
I’ve rewatched without sound and gave Lopez 1-6, Loma 7-11 and Lopez 12 = 115-113.
Still can’t believe the 119-109.

I only gave loma rounds 8,9 and 11. Thought even in the rounds where he finally pushed forward Lopez was still landing with him.
Top performance from Lopez. Gutted but massively disappointed with Loma. You gotta push on,even when its stacked against you. His performance in the second half wasn't as good as its being made out,he was still being outlanded.

Why are everyone so confident about Lopez winning all early rounds? Loma won the 2nd clearly, he landed more telling blows there. The 3rd was close.

I thought rounds 1 to 7 lopez took the centre of the ring, scored to body and head, and tried to close the distance on an opponent who was happy to circle the ring without throwing. I was surprised the commentators gave loma the 2nd, and most people agreeing so perhaps need to watch it back. If it was even remotely close, and i don't think it was, the 12th sealed it for lopez. Suprised anyone can give loma 5 rounds tbh.

I just rewatched it. Still have it a draw. I agree with Ward's card. It was a close fight.
If Canelo had such fight and fought like Loma, he would have been awarded a win.

Re: Vasyl Lomachenko vs Teofimo Lopez 17/10/20
I had it 115-114 Lopez at the end, he took the last round to nick on my card, fight of 2 halves Lopez first 6 then Lomachenko finally getting to work to take most rounds in the second half, bizarre tactics from Loma, I know a lots made out of him being a small Lightweight but Lopez never manhandled him and leant on him and Lopez wasnt as tall as Campbell so not sure why Loma never barely threw a shot in the 1st half a plenty feinting and upper body movement, didnt take too much clean but it was clear Lopez was winning things, threw more landed more, straight shots to the body, he looked composed and patient and TBH wasnt even in second gear, Loma wasnt doing anything offensively
Lomachenko did finally start to let his hands go in the middle rounds and it was him finally edging rounds, showing some angles bringing pressure and I thought he might be able to get thr draw at best but Lopez took the 12th for me, strange fight taking nothing away from Lopez fair play he deserved and got his tactics better, Lomachenko gave that away IMO though, to give away so many rounds is unforgivable at this level, that 119-109 card was an abomination

It looked like Lomachenko was frustrated with Lopez' speed and also he felt Lopez' power, so he was forced to show some respect to those.handsofstone wrote: ↑18 Oct 2020, 05:11 I had it 115-114 Lopez at the end, he took the last round to nick on my card, fight of 2 halves Lopez first 6 then Lomachenko finally getting to work to take most rounds in the second half, bizarre tactics from Loma, I know a lots made out of him being a small Lightweight but Lopez never manhandled him and leant on him and Lopez wasnt as tall as Campbell so not sure why Loma never barely threw a shot in the 1st half a plenty feinting and upper body movement, didnt take too much clean but it was clear Lopez was winning things, threw more landed more, straight shots to the body, he looked composed and patient and TBH wasnt even in second gear, Loma wasnt doing anything offensively

Maybe but Lomachenko is experienced and clever enough to know when he's losing rounds and he needs to change things up and take chances, reminded me of Hagler against Leonard, he waited to long to it was a simple case of not throwing punchesDrDuke wrote: ↑18 Oct 2020, 05:22It looked like Lomachenko was frustrated with Lopez' speed and also he felt Lopez' power, so he was forced to show some respect to those.handsofstone wrote: ↑18 Oct 2020, 05:11 I had it 115-114 Lopez at the end, he took the last round to nick on my card, fight of 2 halves Lopez first 6 then Lomachenko finally getting to work to take most rounds in the second half, bizarre tactics from Loma, I know a lots made out of him being a small Lightweight but Lopez never manhandled him and leant on him and Lopez wasnt as tall as Campbell so not sure why Loma never barely threw a shot in the 1st half a plenty feinting and upper body movement, didnt take too much clean but it was clear Lopez was winning things, threw more landed more, straight shots to the body, he looked composed and patient and TBH wasnt even in second gear, Loma wasnt doing anything offensively
