Hate this mentality that stopping journeymen is an indicator of where a prospect will go.
Why ?
Of course it doesn’t mean a whole lot, but it’s likely a prospect who stops Ali without fuss will go further than one who struggles with him, isn’t it ?

He’s just beaten some
One who has lost 98% of the fights he fought.
He retired with a broken nose.
It doesn’t fill me with excitement about him.

That is all very true, but I agree with the fact it's a bad mentality - you can only beat who's in front of you,and some journeymen are tough as they come, but if you're much cop and going somewhere in the sport, beating them is a formality

My point is… if he wins an area or English title fight in the same manner I’ll start to get a hard on.
Beating a 2-70 fighter who has never been stopped is something but it’s not really an accurate indicator at all, as he’s fighting a bum of the highest order.

because theyre beating dudes who are professional losers and lose like 99 percent of their fights, beating an actual live opponent means far more than a stoppage over a journeyman.....you have to actually see how they are on the defensive, when they have to dig in and work hard, how they take a shot etc

I’m just saying I’m not getting excited about him yet as many prospects have started like Noakes has then 2 years later they’re nobodies.
He looks decent at mo, but so many have before him with such a low real success rate.
Btw how tall is Sheeraz???
