Canelo is like Arguello was. Patient and not caring too much about giving away early rounds, confident in the stoppage or late dominance

I had Kovalev ahead or at the min level going into the 11th.

Hope he now fights some more serious threats?! It’s not like he’s been fighting bums - he’s fought 3 undefeated world champs. We can analyse their opponents and say none of them were great world champs but he’s cleaned out the division.

Who do you want him to fight?

I'd love him to fight at Middleweight again - those 4 champions are pretty tasty - 2 unfinished business (for me) and the other two are longtime champions who have beaten some pretty decent names who I think stylistically could give him problems.

Lets be honest, a number of people questioned the Rocky Fielding fight as belt hoping and avoiding the bigger fights at Middleweight which is a much better division. If people genuinely thought BJS, Plant and Smith stood a chance - then what about GGG 3, Lara 2, Charlo and Andrade.

Now GGG and Lara aren't the same fighter as when they last fought Canelo - but still true and tested elite fighters and Andrade vs Canelo might be now more natural at 168 - so I say next Andrade at 168 and then the others at Middle.

All good fights but surely they should just go up to Canelo rather than him going down?

Whilst I thought he lost the first fight against Golovkin I thought he won the rematch so was almost universally considered the number 1 at the weight. Now he’s undisputed at super-middle so why wouldn’t the other guys you mention want to move up and challenge him?

I had it 98-94 into the 10th and then was generous to Plant with a couple 10 - 10 rounds. Not sure how people could have it much tighter or Plant winning on cards.

It wasn't a close fight, fairly one sided really. Think Canelo needs to move up to Light Heavy again. There isn't anyone lower than that poses much threat and deserves the fight.

Think Beterbiev and Ramirez would be the best next opponents for me. Jury's out on Bivol for me but I'm sure Eddie will want it. Joe Smith Jr don't think so.

Yeah really can't imagine him ever going down and realistically why would he. If the likes of Andrade, Charlo and even Eubank Jr won't fight each other why should Canelo.

Nothing intriguing about those fights either for me.

All the greats are content to give away early rounds, Crawford and Usyk are the same

Intelligent fighters can process data on their opponents as the fight progresses, the really intelligent ones will almost always do well in the late rounds as a result. The ones you mentioned are all good examples, Floyd too

Re Maverick.....you make a valid point but you also highlight my point I made on my first post. Floyd fought Ricky at 147, he got absolutely slaughtered for it on this forum. "Floyd needs all the advantages". Now I've suggested Canelo fights the Middleweights its "no they should move up to fight him". I want Canelo to fight GGG with no excuses and it would do his legacy so much more if he beat him clean at Middle.

Not sure why Eubank jnr is being mentioned. As it stands I genuinely rather see Canelo vs Ryder than Eubank jnr. The guy has no wins in world class and has, to be honest looked bang average since joining Roy Jones. If he does a number on Williams, then he can legitimately call out Charlo or Lara

He was the A-side financially in the fight, had been fighting at welterweight for 18months/ 2 years at that point and was coming off a win against De La Hoya which made him cross over to the masses as a PPV star. Perhaps people were overly sympathetic to Ricky.

When Canelo next fights it’ll have been 3 years since he made middleweight. Surely it should be the middleweight guys who go out of their way to go for the big one? Charlo/Andrade can continue fighting the likes of Montiel/Quigley but seemingly won’t face each (likely more Charlo than Andrade) or they can try to make 3-5 times their normal purse and go for greatness at the division above.

I do see your point and I agree - I also think Andrade would be a better fight at Super Middle as he especially is big for the weight. At the moment though his Golovkin fights have asterix by them - 1 - cos fight one should be a loss and 2 - fight 2 was ridiculously close (could easily be a loss) and obviously we have the mexican beef thing aswell. He then proceeded to move up the weights and face weaker champions (Kovalev was dangerous but was the wrong side of 30 and Rocky Fielding - well say no more). He also moved up at a time when some stylistically troublesomes light middles moved up (Charlo and Lara). Andrade aside, there would be further asterix's if he were to fight Lara / Charlo and GGG at 168 as these are small Middles and especially as Canelo has not said he is tight at Middle. Yes, it could be argued that father time has already meant the GGG ship has sailed, but while GGG keeps defending his title - then I don't have any issue with a 3rd fight.
