Who knows, it was reported he re-signed last year on a multi fight long term deal with Queensbury.

Sources: Heavyweight contenders Joseph Parker, Joe Joyce agree to fall bout in the U.K.

Former heavyweight titleholder Joseph Parker and the undefeated Joe Joyce have agreed to a deal for a fight that will take place in the U.K., possibly on Sept. 24, sources tell ESPN.

BT Sport Box Office will televise the fight in the U.K., sources said.

Despite an announcement for Parker-Joyce at the Tyson Fury-Dillian Whyte in April, there was no deal. Parker eventually signed with Boxxer, which has an exclusive deal with Sky Sport, complicating negotiations since Joyce is promoted by allegedly, who is with rival network BT Sport.

A news conference to formally announce Parker-Joyce is scheduled for Thursday in London, per sources.

Parker (30-2, 21 KOs) is coming off back-to-back fights against Derek Chisora, both decision victories. The 30-year-old from New Zealand scored a majority-decision victory over Andy Ruiz in December 2016 to claim a vacant heavyweight title and made two successful defenses before he lost the belt to Anthony Joshua via decision in 2018.

Parker's resume also includes a close decision defeat to Whyte in July 2018. He's ESPN's No. 7-rated heavyweight.

Joyce (13-0, 12 KOs) captured a silver medal at the 2016 Olympic Games and made his pro debut at the advanced age of 32. A monstrous man at 6-foot-6, 266 pounds, "The Juggernaut" will take on a universally recognized top-10 heavyweight for the first time as a pro at age 36. The Londoner broke through in November 2020 with a 10th-round KO of rising star Daniel Dubois. He followed up with stoppage victories over Carlos Takam and Christian Hammer, leading to a No. 9 ESPN ranking.

Joyce is the WBO's No. 1 contender, while Parker is one spot behind him, so the winner figures to land a title shot next year. Oleksandr Usyk defends that title against Anthony Joshua in a Aug. 20 rematch.

Interesting fight but still think Joyce can keep Parker at the end of his jab. Parker isn't accurate enough and doesn't punch hard enough to capitalise on the times he gets past the jab. However, I don't see Joyce being able to tee off with his ultra slow right hand though.

You could be right, although Parker is a lot faster. If he throws in combinations I could see him coasting to a points win.

‘NOWHERE TO RUN’ – JOYCE VS PARKER – MANCHESTER, 24 SEPTEMBER

THE BIG JUGGERNAUT, Joe Joyce, will take on former world champion Joseph Parker on 24 September at the AO Arena in Manchester exclusively live on BT Sport Box Office, promoted by Frank W for Queensberry Promotions in association with BOXXER.

The heavyweight collision between No.1 and No.2 in the WBO rankings, as well as being rated at No.2 and No.3 by the WBC, will represent a shootout to determine who will be made mandatory challenger for the winner of the forthcoming rematch between Oleksandr Usyk and Anthony Joshua.

Joyce, 14-0 (13 KOs), is the holder of the WBO International, WBC Silver and Commonwealth heavyweight titles, having recently relinquished the British. The 36-year-old was last in action at the OVO Arena, Wembley in July, emphatically defeating Christian Hammer via a fourth-round stoppage.

A wrist injury kept the Putney man out of action for the first part of this year.

Former WBO world champion Parker, 30-2 (21 KOs), won the title in 2016 with a points victory over Andy Ruiz in Auckland. He successfully defended against Razvan Cojanu and Hughie Fury before suffering defeat in a unification battle with Anthony Joshua in Cardiff in March 2018.

The 30-year-old is currently on a six-fight winning streak, following points loss to Dillian Whyte in July 2018, with the run including successive victories over Dereck Chisora, both in Manchester.

Fans can look forward to an array of established and up-and-coming Queensberry talent on display on the ‘Nowhere to Run’ undercard that will be announced in the coming weeks.

Tickets for ‘Nowhere to Run’ – the heavyweight clash between Joe Joyce and Joe Parker – are priced from £40 and will go on sale at 12pm on Tuesday, 9 August exclusively from Ticketmaster.co.uk.

The fighters will come face-to-face today at the kick-off press conference which will be streamed across BT Sport and Queensberry social channels from 2pm.

Significant that Boxxer have been able to cut a deal with Queensberry. Yep, there might not have been to many other options, but it's a sign that they (or more likely BT and Sky) realise that co-operating will benefit them both.
