Eddie’s saying the 5lb rehydration thing is rubbish and it’s more than that.
Wel hopefully it is and they both have the same limits.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:40 Eddie’s saying the 5lb rehydration thing is rubbish and it’s more than that.
It's the size difference between the two of them that concerns me.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:42Wel hopefully it is and they both have the same limits.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:40 Eddie’s saying the 5lb rehydration thing is rubbish and it’s more than that.
This has always been my argument. Dangerous for both fighters for different reasons imo. Eubank is being forced to cut too much weight which could really reduce rehydration. Or Benn could get severely hurt by the bigger and more experienced man. What also worries me is both boxers dads have inflicted life changing injuries to opponents so know the risks more than anyone. And yet they fully support the fight.coneye wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 02:08Just shows what a cut throat buisness this is , and what scumbags , hang around the sport , because this is a dangerous fight ,, For whom i'm not so sure ,, but normally theres NO WAY would you put a guy in at 147 with a supermiddleweight , especielly when said guy has not fought anyone really who is young enough and/or good enough to be a match for him but the bigger guy has mied it at top level with other big guys and done okMightyWarrior wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 01:44 It’s a dangerous fight for Benn, but it seems a very dangerous fight for Jr, he’s a big fave yes, but what they’re asking him to do seems borderline sadistic: losing that weight and same day weigh in, i surprised the board are letting them get away with that. He could be so dehydrated he’s fucked - that’s how you get badly hurt ..his trainer Roy knows all about how losing weight can finish your punch resistance doesn’t he …
Then again , you would never expect a supermiddle to boil down to a weight he last saw at 18 years old , with a same day weigh in no chance for rehdration , and a big chance he could be going in with the last few weeks of starving himself and losing muscle mass not fat ,
both scenarios dangerous ,, and why so Eddie can keep his ppv fighter from getting beat unless he has an excuse , he was just too big
Think its all down to MONEY MONEY MONEY ,, at least on Eubanks part , regards the dads , especielly Benn i think theres some sort of delight his son is keeping him relevent ,, Thy needed each other and were both great boxers , but it was there great rivalary that made them , , and too be honest they had a couple great fights , but both have been elevated over the years to a lot higher status than they deserve ,, has good has they were both did'nt fight the true really top guys of here era , don't care what anyone says the really top guys were RJJ , Toney and a few more ,, Benn and eubank senior were really just like Benn and Eubank junior ,, good but not the best .Muttley wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 17:46This has always been my argument. ultimately it makes Benn a poundshop Canelo- i guess CEJ knows he isn't getting a similar payday elsewhere so the Benn team knew he'd end up making concessions.KiwiRider wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 17:13It's the size difference between the two of them that concerns me.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:42Wel hopefully it is and they both have the same limits.maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:40 Eddie’s saying the 5lb rehydration thing is rubbish and it’s more than that.
Eubank is way bigger. I remember listening to him talk about how he dropped from SMW to MW and it wasn't easy at all, and took time.
But what really grinds my gears is: Benn called him out, not the other way around, so why is everything on Benn's terms, and in his favour?
Seems to me, you call a man out, you don't dictate everything in your owb favour.
Michael Nunn was also avoided by Benn and Eubank. The other ironic thing about this event is Both Sr's and Jr's need each other to remain relevant. And your right, neither boxer is elite, world class. And I'm all for maximising financial gain but imo boxing just keeps shooting itself in the foot time and time againconeye wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 18:44Think its all down to MONEY MONEY MONEY ,, at least on Eubanks part , regards the dads , especielly Benn i think theres some sort of delight his son is keeping him relevent ,, Thy needed each other and were both great boxers , but it was there great rivalary that made them , , and too be honest they had a couple great fights , but both have been elevated over the years to a lot higher status than they deserve ,, has good has they were both did'nt fight the true really top guys of here era , don't care what anyone says the really top guys were RJJ , Toney and a few more ,, Benn and eubank senior were really just like Benn and Eubank junior ,, good but not the best .Muttley wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 17:46This has always been my argument. I am hoping though that the Eubanks are supposudly really difficult to deal with , and i hope that the last week , Eubank comes along with a sick note , and states he's pulling out if Benn comes in one gram heavier than he is ,, if its 168-170 for Benn it must be the same for Eubank .
Although playing devils advocate , i seen an interview with Simms on u tube , he stated the approach and the weight was all made by Eubank , said they were not looking at the fight UNTIL Eubank approached them and offered the fight at 157 ,, would possibly make you think maybee he can make that weight comfortable ,, but if he could you would have to say why has'nt he been boing at that weight ,
Thats the problem its boxing you can't believe anything your told
then he should say what it is. Its a madness that you can have a sporting contest with secret rules....maverick23 wrote: ↑15 Aug 2022, 16:40 Eddie’s saying the 5lb rehydration thing is rubbish and it’s more than that.

Imagine if befor a football game a team forced there opponents to not sleep the night before but they wernt allowed to tell anyone that... Thats bassicaly what a rehydration clause is equivelent too.
Yh in the past we’ve seen higher fines.. this doesn’t seem too much considering he’s already a millionaire.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑18 Aug 2022, 04:19 I imagine Jnr will come in a bit heavier and just pay the fine, 100k a pound, now much if you are getting paid several million
although I did read Benn has the right to walk away completely if he comes in over 158.5 I think it was. Who knows thoughRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑18 Aug 2022, 04:30Yh in the past we’ve seen higher fines.. this doesn’t seem too much considering he’s already a millionaire.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑18 Aug 2022, 04:19 I imagine Jnr will come in a bit heavier and just pay the fine, 100k a pound, now much if you are getting paid several million
Which is why it's strange the BoC have sanctioned it, if one of them gets badly hurt someone should be facing a considerable bit of time in jail
And thats not very likely is it.Nightmare Roy wrote: ↑18 Aug 2022, 04:44although I did read Benn has the right to walk away completely if he comes in over 158.5 I think it was.
