I'm actually looking forward to the Gurgen H vs. Michael Coffie fight
Those guys are both giants and not terrible fighters either. Big Gug has a good jab. Coffie hits hard in volume.
Not bad for an early fight, if you like the HWs of course. It won't be a very pretty fight.

Easy KO for Wilder, probably in the 6/7th round.

rounds 1-3ish: they stare at each other, hardly throwing a punch
round 4 or 5: right hand flattens helenius, fight over

Wilder drained himself to his best weight, Helenius put on some pounds probably in order to bully Deontay similarly to how Firy did. Both look ready.

Very interesting to see how heli approaches this. I think he is too stiff and upright and hittable to fight at his prefered range. Heli likes fighting long but if he hangs out there pretty quickly i think he will find himself on the end of a 1-2 and taking a nap.
Can helly try get in close and have a little wrestle with wilder, hold some weight on him, mabey sneak acouple of shots behind the ear. make it rough.???
Should he just throw heat early and trade and hope he clips him first?
should he actualy try outbox him? very doable, till ya dinged, and i really cant see a world heli can go 12 without getting dinged.
Answers probably a combo... and the truth is all those stratergies likely still end with hele taking a nap... but whats his best bet?
Yes, all of these strategies are liable to lead to the same result.
"Should he just throw heat early and trade and hope he clips him first?"
I'd say so.
Helenius isn't short of power and Deontay doesn't like getting hit. So it could be a cautious few rounds before we see action.
No fight against Wilder is without risk but the strategy that Fury used in the 2nd fight might be best for Helenius tonight.
Its usually best to keep a dangerous puncher on the back foot. Ray Leonard showed us that all those years ago against Tommy Hearns.
The problem with that strategy is that Helenius is no Ray Leonard and Wilder will find him easier to hit than he did Fury. Let's not also forget that even Fury almost got slept in the first and third fights.
Everyone know this but none of the other strategies are any good either.
The reason why Robert Helenius was chosen as the fall guy/opponent tonight is because he was a sparring partner for Wilder not long ago.
So Its highly unlikely the 38 year old will do anything to surprise his old employer.
This is nothing like Larry Holmes v Muhammad Ali.

Helenius is easy to hit. So him just doing nothing isn't a good strategy. He needs to throw caution to the wind because if he doesn't throw a lot of leather, he will definitely get knocked out. If he throws a lot of leather he will probably still get knocked out, but that's his only chance of winning.

I expect Wilder to look much better and if it goes a long ways to have way better stamina and legs underneath him.
His team must have been reading my advice on here. They destroyed him in Fury 2 and 3 putting weight on a frame that does not have the legs to hold it. When Wilder is heavy he cannot keep enough oxygen going to those skinny chicken legs of his. The worst thing he ever did was gain that weight. The trilogy would have been much more competitive if he was light all 3 fights.
Wilder KO 8 for me.

I bet Helenius pours it on in the first 3 rounds trying to pressure and overwhelm Wilder the way Fury did
I don't think it will work as well for him as Fury but he probably takes the first 3 rounds assuming he doesn't leave himself too open
Round 4-6 are up in the air as Helenius slows way down but Wilder just looks for the perfect shot. Helenius probably up about 4-2 after six
Round 7 I think Wilder finds the perfect shot and it's game over instantly
So Helenius has the first six rounds to change that outcome.

Promoter Hearn reacted to the news in an interview with Boxing Social, saying: “It’s obviously, financially, a disaster, but it wasn’t a massive fight.
“I think that we’re approaching a time around the world that people are spending their money more wisely and obviously the pay-per-view price point in America is expensive.
“I think that when there’s a fight that most predicted would be one-sided, I didn’t think it would be as one-sided as that but I think that’s what the general perception was, obviously you’ve seen that with the number of buys, and it was a disaster.”
Hearn recently spoke about a potential fight between Joshua and Wilder on talkSPORT, as he said, “And then, of course, there’s the Wilder situation.
“Not saying that’s going to be the fight for January or February, but it’s definitely a fight that he’s looking at.”
“I think the feeling of AJ is, and by the way none of them are easy fights, but the value of a tune up, if you like, sometimes they’re all as dangerous as each other, do you know what I mean?
“So, I don’t think he wants to start dropping out of the top 15 and top 10 of the governing bodies and just looking for an easy touch, I think he wants a real fight.”
