What a nipple!
It wasn't me who mentioned it!
wasn there a few names listed - I cant remember who but arreola was one of a few
When you have the amount of blue-ribbon sponsors AJ does then it involves a lot of commercial work.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:16 I've heard Hearn mention pushing this back a few times. AJ also seems to be spending a lot of time doing his 'commercial' work.....
Surely he's taken a pay cut or even sacked by some. Losing twice then imploding isn't a good look. His popularity isn't even half what it was.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:51When you have the amount of blue-ribbon sponsors AJ does then it involves a lot of commercial work.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:16 I've heard Hearn mention pushing this back a few times. Perhaps some of his contracts won’t be renewed. Who knows. He should put them on the back burner for a while, join a pro gym that’ll get the aggression back in him and build some momentum.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 04:39Surely he's taken a pay cut or even sacked by some. Before previous fights he has tended to train overseas before signing for a fight. This time, a fashion show in Milan suggests he wasn't too serious about fighting on 3rd December.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:16 I've heard Hearn mention pushing this back a few times. Yes, spar a few pros, maybe even let their coaches watch.maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 04:50Perhaps some of his contracts won’t be renewed. Who knows. He's insinuating Joshua's using PEDs, even though it was Mickey's man-crush who was banned for taking nandrolone,maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:51When you have the amount of blue-ribbon sponsors AJ does then it involves a lot of commercial work.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:16 I've heard Hearn mention pushing this back a few times. Tyson was also banned for taking cocaine too from memory and it just so happens that his doctor that he sees for the occasional sniffle fancies himself as a PED specialist.Teddy's Toupee wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 13:37He's insinuating Joshua's using PEDs, even though it was Mickey's man-crush who was banned for taking nandrolone,maverick23 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:51When you have the amount of blue-ribbon sponsors AJ does then it involves a lot of commercial work.mickey1975 wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 03:16 I've heard Hearn mention pushing this back a few times. Probably should of faced him before facing Usyk. Maybe the plans to do a number on an opponent who took Fury the full 12 rounds and shreded his faceRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑13 Oct 2022, 07:23 OTTO WALLIN CONFIRMS APPROACH FOR ANTHONY JOSHUA FIGHT
Swedish heavyweight Otto Wallin confirmed in an interview with ProBoxingFans that he has been approached about a potential fight versus Anthony Joshua next.
Joshua’s promoter Eddie Hearn plans for ‘AJ’ to return on December 17th for a first fight since his rematch defeat to Oleksandr Usyk in August. A number of names had been rumoured to face the thirty-two-year-old including veteran Chris Arreola, but it appears Wallin has officially received a call to clash with the former two-time heavyweight champion.
That was always bullcrap.handsofstone wrote: ↑12 Oct 2022, 05:08 So much for getting Joshua active, doubt we'll see him again this year, probably February with talk of him out again in the summer before it's actually October
I don't think Hearn wanted the Fury fight for AJ at all. He's saying he wants top 15 opponents so he can sell his cash cow in big shows knowing that his cash cow almost certainly wins. If he makes AJ-Fury and Fury knocks AJ out, AJ quite probably retires. And then Eddie has lost his cash cow. I'd be very surprised if he risks it against Joe Joyce too.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑20 Oct 2022, 06:29 Will likely fight early 2023..
He'll have two confidence builders.. against top 15 opponents..
When Eddie Hearn joined the DAZN Boxing Show last week, he suggested that Joshua would have two quick fights against ‘credible’ top 15 opponents to build his confidence back up.
“I always felt after the Usyk fight, he should come back with two top 15 guys, and then Fury dangled the carrot, and AJ took the bait. But now that’s not happening, it’s still the same plan, really,” he said.
“He [Joshua] could choose to take that fight [Deontay Wilder] next, but it’s likely you’ll see him in with a top 15 guy. Sometimes I read stuff. AJ has made an offer to Chris Arreola. Absolute rubbish. The next thing. that’s reported in every newspaper.
“I’ve not even spoken to Chris Arreola about the fight, and that’s everywhere. I’m not saying that’s a bad fight. But we’ve not reached out to him at all about that fight.
“Otto Wallin’s name gets thrown around sometimes. Obviously, he had a good fight with Tyson Fury. Anyone in that top 15. Joe Joyce is a good fight, a tough fight. I think he’s a handful for anybody. That could be a big UK fight.
“For me, see what happens with AJ’s team. If he doesn’t get the Fury fight and it doesn’t look like he will, I think we revert to two quick fights to get the machine moving and the confidence back and become a three-time world champion.”
It was never going to be December was it?garethhop wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 15:19You're bang on. People who say it's just 2 losses to an all time great miss the point. AJ was unbeatable. Even the Ruiz defeat was quickly reversed. But now it's 3 losses in 5, it's 2 hidings one after another, it's a meltdown in the ring where he looked a cock, and it's dropping a tier.Lenny Cravats wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 14:35 It's going to be a really hard sell for Joshua now, to be anything like the terms he had before.
Might he go down the Fury-esque, 'miracle comeback' route? I dunno. He's not really that personality type. He isn't adored as a personality like Fury and Bruno.
The whole thing with AJ was the belief that he was, (to the casuals) unbeatable.
Salvaging the Titanic might be easier.
From a boxing fan POV, I'd like to see him in with Wilder.
Of course he can still make big money and sell out arenas and do good numbers in a stadium with the right opponent, but he is a different set of goods now.
And he's very beatable too.
December? We'll see.
Absolutely no chance that Joshua was ever going to fight in December, having fought in September.garethhop wrote: ↑21 Oct 2022, 04:00It was never going to be December was it?garethhop wrote: ↑01 Sep 2022, 15:19You're bang on.
