Got to say i agree i like the guy ducked no one gave us some exciting fights ,,
Ducked no one? He never fought for the British title because Jon Thaxton had it, never fought for the Euro title because Romanov had it, avoided John Murray, never rematched Prescott which would have been a very easy fight to make, ducked a Pacman fight in favour of Paulie Malignaggi etc
He did'nt need the british title , he was well above Thaxton in the draw cards and money making , why go backwards , fair enough he did'nt rematch Prescott , but thats management not him instead he come off a lss and when on to some big money fights , guys a fighter he was scared of NO ONE
LOL, 'why go backwards?' Have you seen the men he was fighting pre Breidis Prescott?!

He might have coped with Prescott's assault had he been toughened up by fighting hard men like Thaxton, Murray and Romanov rather than knocking over tomato cans because 'he didn't want to go backwards'.

I've always said, when a fighter fails a drugs test, their record should be changed to all no-contest or even better DQ losses.

It is the only thing that would stamp it out. No fighter would want to go from 35-3 to 0-38 in a blink of an eye

How does making more money equate to not ducking? Please take me through your thinking here.

Never known a boxing fan be happy to miss a hyped prospect skirting the British champ, European champ and top domestic rival in favour of journeymen importees from the division below him.

When a hyped up 17 year old medals at the olympics , and rightly or wrongly , becomes a household name , turns pro and starts making serious money straight away , i don't think choosing an easier fight , making money and building a brand , is ducking i call it good management , yet he fought who he had to in order to make the dollars , and british level fighters were not on the menu , now come on your saying a fella who jumped in with a at his peak Canelo was ducking Thaxton , or Murray ,, Were you involved with any of them and shitty they missed out on the payday . For some boxings about Ego , some just want to have a few fights and quit , some want to win an Area title , and be done , some a British title and see what happens .
But for Khan right from the word go it was non of the above it was about building a brand , becoming an household name , Earning MILLIONS and i must say he done a superb job of the lot

I still think he would have been a far better boxer and had a better career eventually if they left him as an amateur for a few more years. His body was not ready for professional boxing at the age he turned pro. Turning pro at 21 rather than 18 would have been better for him IMO.

Yep there could be a good argument for this , BUT they struck while the iron was hot , and he's a rich young man now , doubt he thinks he should of waited , couple losses at ameteur and it would of been forget about him

An old fat Mexican icon fresh off a bad cut and nearly a decade removed from his Naz victory? Perhaps I'm an eccentric boxing fan but I would have preferred Khan to tackle Thaxton, Romanov and Murray.

Fighting Canelo a decade later when he had nowhere to go, cynical Mayweather and Pacman cash out jobs eluding him, doesn't rewrite history.

The Breidis Prescott performance is a great example of how ducking and cherry picking stunts a fighter's development.

That was as cynical a bit of matchmaking and officiating as I've seen. They let him bleed long rnough so it wouldn't be a no contest.

I remember Barrera wobbled Khan badly with a jab at one point.
