Having now watched the replay, the stoppage was probably the right call.

Conlon’s chin is crystal, but that intervention was premature. Was still fighting back off the ropes and the fight was in the balance. Give the lad a chance.

Looked very early, but no complaints from Mick.

He never had a great chin, but he didn't have one at all tonight - shot fighter.

it looked quite early to me at first. mick was wobelled but not horrendously sagged or anything. he was having a good run and right in the fight. the final flurry didnt last long at all and many shots missed, but mick seems like one who would kick up a fit if he strongly disagreed..........and he didnt

Still not sure about that stoppage, what I am sure is that Conlan's punch resistance is gone, hurt in the 1st then dropped heavy in the 2nd by a jolting left hand, even when he got up everything Gill landed had him doing a funny dance, done well to make it out the round, Conlan got back into things, some nice bursts, dug the feet in to get full purchase, Gill just looked composed and assured though kept at it and found the breakthrough in the 7th, wobbled Conlan into the corner with a right then went in for a kill as the ref jumped in, Conlan hurt but wasn't catching everything clean, looked a touch early, still no complaints from Conlan

Happy for Gill he's a good egg and is good value

ya, it's one thing to get banged out by world class fighters known for having some power............but jordy gill 8 stoppages in 30 fights looking like a banger in there
