This whole Benn carry on has been one of the strangest episodes I can remember in boxing.

He’s got no business anywhere near world level.

When Lockett got beat by Pavlik did we start saying let’s get him a shot at Kessler at 168 or Dawson at 175?

When Jennings got folded by Cotto did we start speculating on how he’d do against 154 or 160 champs?

Of course not, we just accepted they were a million miles off world level & manipulated the ranking bodies to get a title shot.

Well said mate. We were clearly in agreement on the pre-fight thread and your comparison with Jennings proved to be right on the money.

Forgot the weight. Benn never has and never will earn the right to operate at this level. End of story.

It was perfect from Garcia , came out left hook , few more , some softish some hard , I tufrned to my son and said forget the left hook he's looking for a right hand then just watched him hook at will and draw Benn on to a beutiful right hand ,
Thats what experienced good boxers can do . If Benn had been doing an apprentaship for he last 10 years instead of feasting on old men and weight drained opponents he would off known that it was gonna be on the cards ,

At 29 he can have a pretty decent career if he stays focused and injury free.
He was decent enough with his left hand, but now bringing his right into his game as an orthodox is really something.

If he's going to 160 a fight with Denzel would make sense. There's been talk of Denzel fighting Liam Smith which seems a bit silly.

Denzel v Conor would be a better domestic dust up with the bonus (for casuals) of an alphabet title on the line

And there's no reason Benn couldn't fight at 154. Not sure if Josh Kelly is signed to fight Boots but if not i wonder would Josh v Conor be viable at Sunderland's ground in the spring

Sadly and absurdly all roads still probably lead to Eubank Benn 3 though

Benn tried his best, but sadly his best was a level or two below what it takes to seriously challenge Garcia.

Garcia showed his pedigree. He looked at Benn half a round in the first to carefully feel his strength and punch, but I think it was after the first real clinch where Garcia would have felt Benn wasn't anywhere has heavy as he'd made out .. and figured Benns punches weren't going to get any harder/heavier, and basically started letting that right hand go with purpose.

Reminds me of the build up to the Mayweather Vs McGregor fight. So many 'knowledgeable experts' falling for the hype.

Benn has done absolutely brilliant in earning what he has.

Hopelessly out of his depth. What was he doing in there? He beats a fellow novelty fighter at super middle thus qualifies for a world title shot at welter?

Glad he got exposed but the stoppage was premature. Deprived us of a big KO and a satisfying, definitive conclusion.

Both have played the game to the max although I actually don't mind Chris and he's achieved far more boxing wise than Benn will ever do.

The fact of the matter is Benn has never been,nor will he ever be any good.
