Hide fought very recently, and it seems just too short notice... but... never say never!

What if a court-free compromise was first negotiated in order to make the fight? Both parties might be open to that.

Enzo would KO Hide, Hide's fight on the Thaxton undercard was awful.

Herbie goes to dreamland if It happened. :TU:

Feel bad for Enzo.

I'd usually worry about a late replacement, but we're talking about allegedly here, it'll be Weekend at Bernie's III if Enzo's still on the card.

What will Hide want to do? Jump into this fight like a maniac (has just fought mid/late Nov) for straight, kamikaze world title shot?

Or, have more time to prepare, and fight Godfrey in WBC elim (Godfrey talented, fat) to face Fragomeni (about 40 yo, tires late, small)?

I hope he does the former, but reckon he does the latter. Can he resist the temptation of trying to wipe Enzo's chin out early (having seen Haye do it), or will he do the sensible thing and prepare well for fights with fat American and old Italian?

All this talk about a fight that 'could' be is pissing me off but here I go with my tuppence. Hide weighed 207 two weeks ago for his last fight. Lets assume he's put on half a stone since then, can he really get down to 200 lbs? I doubt it.

If it seems too good to true, it usually is.

Very amusing that Frank has drawn up his own shortlist of who will fight for a vacant 'world' title.

I'm sure if the only sticking point is a few pounds, things will be sorted and the scales will read what is wanted!

You think its difficult to cut 14 lbs? Do the other one, for someone of Hide's size it would be very easy, I actually think he could do that comfortably in 2 days.

This might sound weird if this fight happens.

I am no Herbie fan, I think for him to be called a two time world Heavyweight champion is a joke and even his British title win was a joke. He seems to be a nasty and crazy person, who has done some particularly bad things.

I am an admire of Enzo, he could have safely stayed on his WBO baubble and defended it for years making the cash. Instead, he and Haye drummed up the fight so it was staged at the "perfect" time and he has shown fantastic fighting guts in the past. He seems to be an all round good egg of a bloke.

However, if it happens on Saturday I hope Herbie smashes him! Just to see the smurk of a guy sitting at ringside wiped off.

It's interesting to note that its 4 days to go now and still Anthony Small and Derek Chisora still dont have opponents, and Mac has to get a late replcement in.

Thats normal enough for undercard fighters, Nobby normally gets a call and fills one side of the bill up in one go

On the day when Frank allegedley spends £5m on three boxers, no wonder he advertises his shows with pictures of his boxers fighting themselves in the mirror.

BTW Hide Vs Big Mac would be fight of the year!

World ranked Cruiserweight informed 15 rounds .com that he was contacted by Sports Network for a possible fight this Saturday with Enzo Maccarinelli for a chance at the vacant WBO Cruiserweight title in London.

“The WBO is a serious orginization. Give me three weeks to prepare and i will bring back that belt to America.” said Flores.

The slot became available after Jonathan Banks had to pull out of the fight on Monday following a sprained ankle during training for the bout.

Flores, 21-0-1 with thirteen knockouts has been training in Las Vegas.

That's BJ Flores saying "no", which I think everyone would have guessed at. I can't see Herbie Hide agreeing to the fight either. It's pushover time.

Good effort Abbo, I was thinking along similar lines.

A lot of water will flow before this beast gets confirmed. IF it does, I`m wantin Hide to knock Macca into next week. Who has Macca beaten??

This would be a better fight if Hide had proper notice, so in a way it is better that it ISN'T saturday- unless of course it does happen on Sat and they agree a rematch!

The signing of Herbie for this fight will dictate whether I give allegedly £15. If he knows what's good for him he'd better open that wallet. 8)

Any more news on the opponent?

I think this Hide story has legs. Apparently he's in England (rather than Germany) and ready to go on Saturday. This one happens, I reckon. Hide-Enzo will become a reality.

I bet options on Hide are a sticking point. Frank has seen the last guy to crack Enzo on the chin wander off with the belts and pay Frank nothing. He won't want to chance it happening again, even though Hide's ranking gives him bargainig power.

I'm the same though - if it is Hide I'll crack and pay the £15
