I totally agree, MAB does have a decent dig and has shown he can take a shot.....with his experience I fancy him, though it could be close if Amir Khan is at his best.

They may be taking the risk that Barrera is 1- fighting above his natural weight, 2- past his best, but Khan is still at the prospect stage and just one fight past getting knocked out it's still Barrera. The guy's a bloody legend.

Classic example of some people will big up Jon Thaxton (who I think is a lovely guy by the way), despite the fact that he got slaughtered by Romanov (Having struggled with Dave Stewart) and knocked out a second rater for the Euro title, yet will write Barrera off as washed up, even though he boxed Pacquaio 14 months ago.

FW had a bad year in 2008 and needs to get back his credibility as a leading British promoter. Sitting up until 4am getting a deal for Barrera/ Khan is a big step towards getting back on top and fair lay to the man. Its a big fight involving a true ring legend and nobody can say Frank hasnt delivered this time. This is a no bullshit genuine challenge for Khan this time. Khan wants the big time, wants to fight for a title, and this is definately his opportunity to earn a shot. FW has paid Khan a fortune up to now and its time for Khan to prove he is worth it. Personally I cant see Khan winning and it would be silly to say, but Khan lost to a ring legend. Fair enough Barrera is a legend, but hes small, overweight, and 35. If Khan wants to win a title against a true lightweight he has to be able to deal with Barrero and I dont think he can.

im not knocking khan in anyway, what i said is true

did i say it wouldnt be a good win? did i say it was a bad fight?

i actually wrote 'this is a good idea for a fight for khan' and after the prescot loss he has lost alot of his fanbase who were prepared to pay for the ppv who wouldnt do it after the loss, if he beats a big name like this he becomes a big draw again and wont have to have his shows stuck on as part of another fight

I was fed up seeing fighters who had established themselves being effectively on the undercard of Khans fights. Time Khan proved something and this is his chance, its sink or swim.

No interest at all in watching this fight. Barreras washed up, has nothing to offer.

Barrera is one of my favourite all time fighters. I was happily shocked when I found out about this. Whatever you say about either fighter its not a fight that is easy to for predict either way IMO. Massive props to Khan and his team for making and taking the fight. It could be a one sided slaughter either way as Barrera proves himself a class above or Khan could dominate as Barrera grows old overnight. I actually favour Khan but only slightly to win on points by using his superior size and reach. But I'll be routing for Barrera. And another thing...if ticket prices aren't extortionate .....

Also - how many fights has Khan got left on his contract with Warren? IE is Warren trying to get him beaten as Amir is looking to leave Fwacnk?

And Amir Khan is no David Haye, so that makes the equation even more unbalanced. But they are both calculated risks which are supposed to have some kind of upside win or lose.

It would appear Khan's biggest weakness is his chin and Barerra isn't a muderous head hunting type puncher but Khan better do his sit-ups!

I'm going for a MAB win at this point but I wonder if Warren knows something I don't and I might falter nearer fight time.

its half true, Barrera is not yet shot, but way past his prime, and fighting above his natural weight against a bigger fighter. However he sill has enough to give Khan a severe beating and a good boxing lesson.
allegedly is really an idiot. He is a true specialist at losing good fighters and ruining careers. A bit like the Accaries brothers (AB star) in France...

I saw a YouTube comment that suggested that. We'll just have to see how the fight goes, if it happens.
