She never learned how to close distance on a striker because her coach and team are a bunch of yes men. We just saw the last of Ronda Rousey in MMA.punchoutsb wrote: She has been more prone to run out and wing punches because her low IQ coach has her thinking she's a striker. She's not; in fact her hands are some of the worst among the top of the division. If she fights smart and to her strengths Nunes will have a short night. If Ronda tries to knock her out to prove a point (exactly what she did against Bethe), she's going to sleep.
I think Edmund is a terrible coach but a friend of mine who knows him was speaking to him at 193 and asked hm a few question like why didn't you get her to do this or this etc and Edmunds reply was that she doesn't listen so you can maybe get her to do one thing you've told her to.punchoutsb wrote:Wow. Cody put on an amazing performance. HUGE win for him.
Rousey...well...

I do feel very sorry for her and I hope she has loved ones close to her tonight.Tinnie wrote:I almost feel sorry for Rousey..... but then i remember how she treated her opponents.... if she'd ever shown the slightest bit of humility during her glory days, i might feel sorry for her....
Cruz is a freak but still got a little clowned tonight, wasnt as impressed with Dillashaw...
They're the only.crusader wrote:Are Holm and Nunes the best strikers she's fought?
That still falls on the coach though. I agree Rousey believed her own hype and doesn't seem to listen to anyone, but Edmund fed that by talking about her dropping world champion boxers and beating Floyd Mayweather. He essentially destroyed her career by killing any chance at progression she may have had.p4p1 wrote:I think Edmund is a terrible coach but a friend of mine who knows him was speaking to him at 193 and asked hm a few question like why didn't you get her to do this or this etc and Edmunds reply was that she doesn't listen so you can maybe get her to do one thing you've told her to.
I agree, that win went to her head. It started with the McMann fight though; her team starting (jokingly) referring to her as a knockout fighter after stopping McMann and her fighting style began to change. But Bethe was definitely the catalyst. Cardinal sin, believing your own hype. She hasn't shown for the press conference yet either.jujigatame wrote:I feel like the Bethe Correia fight was really bad for her. Correia was an awful opponent who had beaten nobody, and Ronda KOing her convinced Ronda that she was a legit striker. Hell I'll even admit she had me fooled for a few months there. But Holm exposed her flaws and the fact that she showed absolutely no progressing in fixing any of those flaws in this fight means it's time for a huge change in her training, or more likely, retirement.
On a motorbike forum I post I had an argument with people about her not being a good strike but being technically extremely flawed. Of course all they saw were quick knockouts so swore black and blue I was wrong.punchoutsb wrote:I agree, that win went to her head. I stopped talking about it with untrained friends/acquaintances some time ago. Her striking is and was beyond poor. It is abysmal.p4p1 wrote:On a motorbike forum I post I had an argument with people about her not being a good strike but being technically extremely flawed. I don't think I've ever seen a Mixed Martial Artist receive the level of hype Ronda did. To suffer two terrible dominating defeats like this...in my opinion it is the biggest fall from grace I've witnessed.crusader wrote:Has there been a greater two fight fall?
Going on recent form, we won't hear anything from her. And if we do it won't be about fighting.lazboy wrote:God that was a satisfying 47 seconds. I'm hearing trainer blame. Is this the excuse she'll run with?
It certainly runs in her family. Her dad committed suicide, and I've never thought her mum seemed that stable.punchoutsb wrote:Rousey turned me off, as did the UFC PR machine...but I'm legitimately concerned for her safety tonight. I've been pretty vocal that I think she has serious mental issues...more than myself or anyone I've ever had the pleasure of working with in the fight game. I hope she has loved ones close. That was brutal, humiliating, and there really isn't any coming back from that for her.
True. She'll be in hiding.p4p1 wrote:Going on recent form, we won't hear anything from her. And if we do it won't be about fighting.lazboy wrote:God that was a satisfying 47 seconds. I'm hearing trainer blame. Is this the excuse she'll run with?
