Billy, I'm seething about this event! I backed Mahan ante post at 22/1. Playing some superb golf 2 shots clear after 2 rounds and just over an even money favourite I thought I was going to be collecting my 3rd sizeable wedge in as many weeks until the fornicator withdrew due to his wife going into labour

That's hard to take.
No bookie seems to want to be first into the market with the Kovalev KO odds. Interesting.

I actually agree with you of course, I was just curious to see what they'd be. The value is with Cleverly here, especially as the odds have gone in his favour due to people thinking Kovalev is this wrecking ball when in reality he is overrated and after all it is on Clev's home turf. I fully expect Cleverly to come through this, although there will be some hairy moments along the way!
Spread the word guys - Cleverly is going to win this one and the value is there. WAR CLEVERLY

I agree mate, don't see Cleverly having major problems here, I think he can outbox Kovalev and get a points win.

This is where Clev shows everyone how good his fans know he is and the super fights will be next.

Woods is far too short, no value there imo. I'll be having a few quid EW on Dustin Johnston this week also I think Francesco Molinari @ 150/1 is massively overpriced.

Wigan, Millwall, Forest & Reading paying out about 15/1 on sky bet..... may have a slice of that.... though opening game is a bit of a lottery.

Does anyone have any experience of emailing a bookie asking for odds when they aren't up yet, and the bookie getting back to them with a price before the official line hits the market?
If so, how often do the odds they come back with reflect the average line that hits the market and can you take advantage of the situation if it's a bit off, or do they play it safe and set a conservative price?

I went on live chat with bet 365 and asked for odds on Hughie Fury to beat Mike Tyson's record as youngest ever heavyweight world champion took a day to reply they gave me nothing.

Yes but to be fair this isn't the type of bet that all bookies will be offering as a standard option, I was wondering more about the KO/TKO/DQ market bets and round betting that takes a while to come up for whatever reason.

Not similiar to what you are looking for but I emailed Boylesports back in 2010 (just after the Voronin win) looking for odds on Carl Frampton to win a major world title before end of 2014. Got odds of 25/1 and still confident it will come through even if time is running thin and opponents are tough looking.

Those type of bets are risky because even if you think they're good enough they still have to actually get the championship fight, I suppose that risk is factored into the odds and your betting decision though.

Does anyone think Steve Smith at 3-1 over Buckland is a good price? I thought it would be closer to evens

I was going to post something about this, spotted the odds last night and thought I was seeing things, Smith will outbox him IMO.

Best boxing bet since I got 4-1 on Hopkins to beat Pavlik. Swifty and Clev double is a certainty for me. May also add Geale in a smaller treble.

What on earth is going on with the stoppage market for the Cleverly fight. Pull your finger out and put some odds up you idiots!

I've had some of that 3/1 on Smith, can't see that been available for much longer.

Are the odds on Cleverly to decision Kovalev likely to be good? I've been watching Kov over the last few years and think this has Calzaghe/Lacy written all over it. Don't get me wrong, I wouldn't be surprised by a knockdown or two on the way but even if its like Wlad/Peter when the dust settles the points will be to NC.

Never seen Smith but I'm not letting an enthusiastic Hagler tip slip by! Just got some on.
Uh we are talking Smith as in Smith vs Buckland right? Why are the bookies putting Buckland favourite do we think?
*EDIT Smith has just come in to 5/2...maybe it's us.

It won't take much to shift the odds, some firms are going 15/8 on Smith. I had 50 bananas on it and a pal of mine got some on but I'm not sure how much.

There's no MOV odds up yet but I reckon it'll be around the 11/8 mark.

You can still get 5/2 at betfred.
