He might say that but he got completely splattered by Pacquaio, and looked absolutely dogshit in the process. He at least had a degree of success against Floyd and can say that he took the fight to him.Crease wrote:I'm not sure about that mate. As far as I know Ricky has always said that the Mayweather defeat was the one that bothered him the most.clopixolacuphase wrote:Hatton is vaguely comparable: the Pacquiao loss was a huge humiliation for him, one he has never seemed to get over. He's a millionaire, but so what? He's terribly unhappy. It's a shame.
He lost his undefeated record that night, it was seen as his "big chance" in Vegas and it was a fight that Ricky was convinced that he could win.
Still does as a matter of fact, had they been assigned a different referee - he said as much in those touring interviews that he does.
No, Guillard.Tomasino wrote:mickey1975 wrote:What do any of you know of this Melvin guy who's fighting bare knuckle soon. Apparently had a decent ufc career.
Melvin Manhoef?
I haven't seen him for a long time. From memory though he was fast and explosive but didn't have a great chin or defence either on the feet or on the ground. Decent enough fighter though.mickey1975 wrote:No, Guillard.Tomasino wrote:mickey1975 wrote:What do any of you know of this Melvin guy who's fighting bare knuckle soon. Jimmy Sweeney probably does him then.p4p1 wrote:I haven't seen him for a long time. From memory though he was fast and explosive but didn't have a great chin or defence either on the feet or on the ground. Decent enough fighter though.mickey1975 wrote:No, Guillard.Tomasino wrote:

Manhoef is one body part away from being the perfect fightermickey1975 wrote:I met Manhoef at a seminar at my friends gym,not that big of a man, viscous kicks though. And a nice man.
I think the truth is that athletic guys who are 220lbs+ generally go into different sports if it's an option. Take Miocic for example, if he had ever been good enough to make the MLB(there was interest in him)there's no way he would be fighting today.ElJefe wrote:Was having a look at the UFC rankings and it made me think, where is the new blood at LHW and HW to be looking out for? Feels like the top 4 or 5 at LHW have been round for years, and even guys like Manuwa who looked great in his last fight vs Saint Preux already has losses to the top 2 contenders. Is there just a gulf between the elite and the rest?
Heavyweight looks the same. Overeem, Hunt, Arlovski must be ancient now but they're all comfortably top 10 fighters in the rankings. From a casual point of view it seems as though there's a bit more of a turnover in the lower weights at least in regards to guys in with a shout of a title shot.
Am I right or wrong? What's the reason for what seems to be a lack of new fighters coming through at the higher weights?
She's been angry at Joe since she got knocked out against Holm. Remember Joe spoke about her getting finished by Holm and said things that could be taken negatively about her. She is angry at EVERYONE who spoke about her getting finished by Holm/Nunes or congratulated Holm/Nunes. She threatened to beat up Paige because she's a 'fair weather bitch' for congratulating Holm on her win.thunderfromdownunder wrote:Ok, so I'm pretty over hearing about ronda at this point, though I have one more thing I found interesting....
Brendan schuab recently said on his podcast that she was angry at joe rogan, and didn't want to speak to him. As far as I knew they were friends, and she has been on his podcast before.
Has anyone heard anything about this cause I'd be interested to know why.
If I had to take a stab it could Be that he was very critical of her performance against holm?

He's earned his shot, if the last fight wasn't a draw he would be getting his shot now. I want to see him fight for the title and to be honest I would love to see him win. I always thought he was a bad style match up for GSP TBH.jujigatame wrote:Supposedly they offered Maia a #1 contender fight against Lawler, but he turned it down and said he will wait for the Woodley/Thompson II winner. That's a risky move and I hope it doesn't backfire on him.
Tyrone has a few more options than Wonderboy. He would do well to pressure Stephen a bit more this time around and make it ugly. Woodley has the speed to avoid shots while getting inside. Thompson doesn't like pressure, and I believe Woodley will deliver that pressure, get inside, take him down and work his gnp. I'm taking Woodley by stoppage.thunderfromdownunder wrote:Wonder boy v Woodley 2 confirmed at 209. I think both guys might fight a little different this time around. Woodley might look for the knockout more, knowing he can hurt Thompson.
I feel mostly the same I think out of the 2 Woodley can make more adjustments to get the W. It's still an interesting fight though I'll be watching and cheering for Wonderboy.Impractical Poster wrote:Tyrone has a few more options than Wonderboy. Yeah I'm thinking the same. I was actually surprised he didn't press forward more the first time. In fact it was wonderboy doing most of the pressing.Impractical Poster wrote:Tyrone has a few more options than Wonderboy.
