Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte | BT PPV - 23 April 2022
Re: Tyson Fury vs. Dillian Whyte | BT PPV - 23 April 2022
75 pages, mostly about someone who hasn't said anything and allegedly having a tantrum about it. 94,000 tickets sold off the back of that?
How many pages are we going to get when Dillian Whyte actually opens his mouth? I couldn't care less about whether they make a load of money back but I think this will do plenty of numbers because everyone's talking about Dillian for doing nothing. As soon as he says something, anything, one interview... ONE Youtube interview... Just watch the views and the comments go nuts on it.

Don't think we've had a fight thread with so many comments.. TBF, the thread created whilst the whole contracts/purse bids were being set.

This is the same solicitor who sounded like a complete fool on Talksport a few weeks ago.KiwiRider wrote: ↑11 Apr 2022, 05:59 Whyte has an experienced solicitor.
If he wasn't keeping to the contractual obligations, he would have that made very clear to him.
The fact that he isn't doing all the promotional guff, and Fwank is only threatening legal action and not starting proceedings, means there likely isn't broad ranging promotional clauses.
It’s the same one who has been advising him whilst the WBC have messed him about with little fear of any comebacks for the last 3 years- Sulimans brief clearly sussed Benz out pretty clearly. The same one who filed an arbitration case last year, which went nowhere. The same one who probably advised him to declare lower purse income, which eventually led to giving the WBC the room to manoeuvre him into getting just 20% of the split..
If I was Dillian I would be thinking very hard about how he operates over the next few weeks, or at least just get a second opinion, otherwise he may end up in a bad legal position if he’s not careful.

The more hardcore boxing fans are lapping up the current Whyte stuff but none of my casual boxing fan mates have mentioned the fight or are currently planning on buying the PPV. That may change next week but the fight is get minimal publicity/promotion currently outside of the usual boxing places and TalkSPORT.Cyclops wrote: ↑11 Apr 2022, 06:11 75 pages, mostly about someone who hasn't said anything and allegedly having a tantrum about it. 94,000 tickets sold off the back of that?

Warren On Fury-Whyte Undercard Backlash: ‘We Only Have a Certain Amount of Money To Play With’
“Anthony Yarde was supposed to fight on there,” Warren told IFL TV. “Unfortunately that didn’t work out. Bob Arum’s heavyweight, Jared [Anderson], was supposed to be on there, but he got injured.
“We’ve put all our money into the main event, but we’ve got a good fighting undercard. There’s a couple of good cracking fights on there. It is what it is.
“Obviously, it’s a disappointment. We want to deliver every time but at the end of the day we are constricted by the fact that we bid 41 million dollars for the fight. If we bid 32 million, as Matchroom did, we’d have more money to play with.”
“We bid a lot of money for the main fight,” Warren said. “People bought tickets for that main fight without us even announcing an undercard. The main event’s what it’s all about.”
“We lost Anthony and we lost Anderson,” Warren continued. “We’re obviously very unhappy about it, but we did the best we could with the fighters that are available to fight at the moment.
“We put something together, and they are decent fights. They are good fights. There’s nothing wrong with them. We are not selling this fight based upon anything else other than this main fight. The rest of it is what it is. It’s an undercard. I don’t want to sell anybody short, but again, we only have a certain amount of money to play with.”

Dillian Whyte is 'ready and raring' for Tyson Fury fight, says Dean Whyte
Speaking to Boyle Sports, Dillian's brother Dean Whyte believes his sibling will pose a lot of problems for Fury.
"Dillian is a different fighter to Deontay Wilder, he’s a different breed. Dillian’s shot selection is a lot better than Deontay Wilder," Whyte said.
"Wilder jabs and has a big right hand. I don’t think his shot selection is as good.
"Everyone talks about Dillian’s left hook, but Dillian’s body punching too. He’s a good boxer-fighter. In this game it’s about level - you must give credit for knocking down everyone he’s faced - but when it comes to boxing ability he’s not as good as Dillian.
Whyte's silence has also prompted concerns about whether he will actually show up at Wembley Stadium come April 23 and Fury will instead face a replacement opponent, however, Dean Whyte insisted that the man known as 'The Body Snatcher' is ready for this life-changing opportunity.
"It's surprising that they've lined up a substitute, although maybe not that surprising if you consider the magnitude of the fight and how much money they have spent on it.
“Maybe they feel discussions with the team aren’t going well and Dillian’s silence, maybe that's giving them some reservations that Dillian might not turn up. But he’s training very hard, he's putting all of the work in in the gym. And all of the talking is going to be left to be done in the ring.
“Dillian is mentally in great shape, physically he's in great shape. He's ready and raring. He's all smiles but he's serious underneath, he knows he's got a task at hand. We know our game plan and we're going to go out there and impose what we need to impose.”

Barry Hearn has said it’s not a 50-50 fight.
Fury has the 65-35 edge.

Americans need to vote with their wallets and stop paying ridiculous amounts for sh*tty half arse PPVs.
$70?
Absolute rip off.
Cost for me to watch it in NZ live in HD- $32.50 USD and even then I'm not sure I will buy it because of the crappy undercard.

Standard US prices. Pac vs Morales cost $44.95 in the US in 2005. Current prices are in line with inflation. Americans always had to pay more for PPVs compared to the UK.

Thats the 1 fight effect. Ill be illegally streaming it. If there was literally 1 decent euro title, and 1 decent British title fight id probably buy it (sayyyyy, Ekow vs kongo and Ava vs mckinson).Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 22:49 This is gonna be a card that will be one of the most illegally streamed..

spend 45 million on a main event, but an unwillingness to spend 0.45 million on a couple of good fights to support it, and that costs you my buisness. Refuse to belive im the only one.

Will be interesting to see if any journalists question Tyson about his Kinahan links next week. It’s certainly an unwanted distraction 10 days or so before a fight.

I think it will.
Bob’s come out and distanced Kinahan from the fight as it was a result of a purse bid. The BBBC won’t do anything and I think the only people who could are BT and it’s very doubtful they would.

I don’t really like streaming the big fights, unless I have a really good stream, even then it’s never always the best or a few seconds behind.gregregegg wrote: ↑12 Apr 2022, 23:47Thats the 1 fight effect.
