He’s right. It wasn’t good timing wise for AJ.

I don’t think Hearn wanted the fight but he would have had to take the fight i think if Fury hadn’t given stupid deadlines and they let negotiations finish. Tyson gave Eddie an easy out and I think Eddie just took it.

I wonder why he didn’t give Del Boy the same deadline though. What was it - 3-4 weeks between Tyson’s last deadline for AJ and the press conference for Fury and Chisora.

The same Eddie that said Joshua is his boss?

Yep. I think AJ wanted the fight but Eddie probably didn’t and Fury’s rubbish gave him the perfect excuse. When AJ sees the stupid deadlines and knows that they’re also negotiating with Chisora then he’d probably believe Eddie’s reasoning for the fight not happening.

The reality is he chose not to take it.

We’re going round in circles. You say he chose not to take it, I would say Fury called off negotiations twice which suited Eddie.

What are your thoughts on Fury fighting Chisora?

Yeah Eddie didn’t want to fight clearly: it’s the equivalent of one of those football dives where he stuck his leg out in order to get “fouled”, then dramatically fallen over crying foul, thereby ending negotiations and another badly timed fight for his man: Joshua prob wanted it, like the 2nd Usyk fight, even though everyone around him though it a bad idea…he ain’t the brightest and probably accepts Eddie’s explanation that was it was all too complicated.

DAZN and three losses in a row for his man would’ve been terrible business

Because you're arguments are based on your "beliefs".
The evidence shows he chose not to box again in 2022.

He's got a very bad case of AJ obsession. When someone's as blinkered as that, it's pointless.

I’m not quite sure why you’re using the inverted commas but each to their own.

The fact that AJ isn’t fighting in December doesn’t prove that he wouldn’t fight Fury in December. Just like Fury giving AJ arbitrary deadlines and not doing the same with Chisora doesn’t prove Fury didn’t want the fight. They just didn’t get a deal done.

There was one way of proving that he would fight Fury, but unfortunately he wouldn't do that.
However his fans can stay strong in their "belief" that he would have done.

When all is said and done, despite being in an era with Joshua, Uysk, Ruiz Jnr, Joyce ( same promoter and TV company) and Wilder, Fury will have finished 2022 not boxing any of those guys, instead boxing Whyte ( coming off a brutal knock out loss) and a third class fight against Chisora that no one asked for.

Not much needs to be said. It tells its own story.

Two of them turned down the fight in December and he has already beaten one of them at least twice. Hopefully Usyk will keep his word and box him in the Spring.

I don't think Uysk keeping his word is something anyone needs to worry about: he has taken on all comers on their home turf, and never has home advantage.

Meanwhile, Fury boxes Chisora for the third time instead of Joyce, who, according to his manager, was up for it.

I get it, though. Fury is a very smart businessman, hence wants guaranteed victories, much like Jake Paul. And, its a dangerous sport, so can't really knock him for it.

I kinda get the feeling that Fury knows that as well. He's a student of the game, so he'll know who can and who cannot be expected to give him problems.
Another aspect, which he's masterful at, is the psychological side. Again, I don't see him getting much from Usyk there, he's a cool customer.

Klitschko was undefeated in 11 years when he boxed Fury in Dusseldorf? Was Fury guaranteed victory?
After Fury lost 8 stone in weight did you think he was guaranteed to beat Wilder?

I Agree , just think Usyk brings too much to the table not to be a BIG threat ,,, Ok he's small but he's good , I think how would Fury go about beating him ,, come in a bit lighter , go back to the Fury we used to see , moving backwards , feinting , holding , he does this i see Usyk actually out boxing him ,, Come in heavy , go forward , with big punches , once again i see Usyk too quick , it for me is the pick of the fights ,, rather see this than AJ- Fury ,, which i think Fury will either win easy or get Ko'ed early .

Another i want to see is Joyce versus , Wilder Ruiz winner

I anticipated Fury beating Klitschko as Wlad was really poor in the fight before their fight: I think the win flattered to deceive a bit...plus, the fact Fury failed a drugs test that year taints it for me, sadly. Hopefully, it was all legitimate but it does raise some doubts in my mind.

The Wilder fights were impressive, though. Whilst Wilder is not technically the greatest boxer, he is a seriously hard puncher with a lot of heart, and therefore extremely dangerous. So, yes, the losing 8 stone and then getting in the ring with Wilder, and getting off the floor twice was one of the most remarkable things I have seen in boxing. As was changing tactics and demolishing Wilder in the rematch..

Which makes the Chisora fight, and seeking out Charr, all the more disappointing. It seems to me he has switched from being a competitive boxer to a full time businessman. Again, not that there is anything wrong with that. In fact, it is eminently sensible as it is incredibly important to leave boxing with a pile of cash, and ones marbles in tact.

But, I'm not buying that it was all Hearn and Joshua's fault the Fury - Joshua fight didn't happen.

What was the rush with Fury wanting Nov/Dec? Surely a fight that big could’ve waited until Feb if time was an issue. Would’ve meant Fury out of the ring for 10 months… which is no biggie.

Then assuming he beats the dosser, Usyk is there in the summer.

I just find the rush a bit strange.

We've seen no evidence, buddy. Maybe it was a fair contract; maybe it was deliberately offputting. Maybe one side pulled out (with or without manager interference), or maybe to some extent they both did.

Without any inside knowledge, the only thing I'd claim as evidence is that Fury acted a bit of a plank. But that says nothing of who walked first, if indeed either wanted it to begin with.

Heavyweight boxing's full of talent at the minute and hardly anyone claims more than two impressive wins. Feels like a repeat of the '80s, except with different drugs! Example: Usyk, Fury, Joyce, Joshua, Wilder, Jalolov, Makhmudov, Anderson, Dubois and Ruiz probably make up my top ten right now, but Fury's taking on Chisora and I'll be positively surprised if AJ fights any of the others next.

Fury could've beaten Sanchez at a canter and added a decent contender's name to his record. And unless Joshua's completely lost his nerve, he'd stop Hrgovic for my money. So many proper fights to be made, it's a shame. (Although Hrg is the opponent I'd recommend to AJ as a confidence builder, because I think he's a stoppage in waiting and brings a rep, so it's possible we might see that one soon.)

Ali's still GoAT for who he fought as much as how, because he went after Liston, Frazier and Norton. Lyle and Shavers were all-time bangers. Maybe he didn't fancy Foreman so much, but rose to the challenge. Took on Holmes when he was way past his best, because that was his character. Deeply flawed outside the ring, it was a character you couldn't fault as a fighter.

I reckon Joyce'd fight anyone, but he doesn't get the breaks.
