I certainly thought so when I was a kid, I was approached that many times. Thankfully I was only grabbed the once, quite frightening when you are only ten. Obviously the things that happen in childhood do affect the way you think as an adult.

What makes an indigenous person? Britain has been invaded by the Romans, Vikings and French, they all settled here and reproduced. I always thought an indigenous person was pure as in untouched by other civilisations for example Native Americans are indigenous, the vast majority of the population of the USA isn't indigenous.

One of the biggest coalmines in the UK used to be off where the East Lancs road at Haydock now stands - and the towns I mentioned are pretty urban - they still contain chemical plants, glass factories, food processing plants, terraced housing and large council estates - I am from there by the way - where are you from?

Is there a mosque in Leigh? I bet any money though the muslim population of Leigh is miniscule and recently arrived. And yes - Oldham, Rochdale and Bolton have large communities from the Asian continent. But they are still minorities - even in those towns.

Oh, and I didn't bring up towns like Ellesmere Port, Stockport, Chester, Birkenhead which are mainly populated with people of white, British descent - just talking about the South Lancs industrial corridor. And where did I say there were no multi cultural areas outside of London? I said quite clearly that there were swarthes of Britian outside the major cities where there aren't many white faces.

I'm from a small village called Adlington, 15mins drive from Bolton. The abuse I got growing up there and going to Chorley and Preston made me think getting racial abuse frequently and stared at was the norm. I then spent 5 years in 49% ethnic minority Leicester and now I feel like I'm going to explode when someone shouts "paki bastard" at me.

I just came back from my mates wedding in Newcastle - about thirty of us were on a coach from Nottingham - all of the guys on the coach bar two of us were Sikh (I'm hindu) and most of them were wearing turbans. It was pretty bad the amount of two finger salutes, wanker signs and piss-taking out of the guys turbans we got whilst driving through Newcastle centre to the wedding venue. It didn't help that everyone of the coach was pretty wankered and swore back at them though! I was sure we'd end up in some trouble as whilst the religious stuff was going on we all effed off into town to a pub. But all the people I chatted to in the pub were really nice - I was shocked given the "warm" reception we got on the coach. But it just shows even in a big city like Newcastle, there are fair share of racist, ignorant people.

But then again we did go to an "out of town pub" on the suggestion of one of the older lads who had contacts in Newcastle.....so had we stayed in the town centre maybe it wouldn't have turned out quite so nice.

No one who has voted BNP can be unaware of what they are voting for... there has been enough in the media about them. Therefore they either don't care about their bad side or support it.
