That was not a bad cut at all! Shit stoppage!

Cut wasn't so bad but blood was pouring down into McCloskey's eyes. You can't go on like that here. If that'd been on the same bill as Maidana v Morales last week it'd have continued... and McCloskey, five rounds down, with blood pouring into his eye would have had to try to turn it around.... I don't think he would have, not that we'll ever know.

McCloskey's not done himself any harm at all, he fought well and wasn't 'beaten' so's to speak.

What I saw was McCloskey getting rocked earlier in the round and then calmly talking to the ref before it was waved off and then there was a bit of protest.

Yeah on reflection i think you're right...i don't think McCloskey fancied it any more and this was his way out of the fight. I think if the Interviewer's had bothered to actually talk to the Doctor he may have confirmed that McCloskey didn't want to fight any more.

Just disappointing really, unsatisfactory way to end a fight. The cut wasn't THAT bad, they should have let him carry on at least another round and see how he dealt with it and whether the corner could get on top of it, it wasn't exactly spurting blood.

Khan was comfortable in the fight but I agree certainly wasn't lookng vintage, I don't feel that McCloskey had done anything, but was boxing to a plan and didn't look to have expended loads of energy. But I can't see that the fight would have gone any other way than a Khan win.

Steve Collins is talking biased nonsense. Rematch is NEVER gona happen unless Khan's career takes a turn for the worse.

Bad Karma just followed this fight all week. Unsatisfactory all round. Off Khan goes now to fight in the States and will only be back when he is beaten there.

I agree mate. Good luck to Khan fighting out there and having the guts to take on Bradley et al.

If that had of been Ricky Hatton in that ring tonight. No way in a million years would that fight have been stopped. The cut he had against Thaxton was 10 times worse. The corner should had time to work on it.

I was really surprised the way the doctor got into the ring and was on top of McCloskey before he knew it. Usually the doctor waits at the rope until the ref brings the boxer over. Crap stoppage.

Just listening to Khans interview on five live,

not very likeable at all is he ?, no class whatsoever

Disappointing for Mcloskey, but lets ignore the Steve Collins Irish bias. Khan won all 6 rounds on every judge's card. In the last round Khan was starting to tee off on Mcloskey. To say that Mcloskey could have won is like saying I could win the lottery. Possible, but unlikely. People are going overboard because Mcloskey did better than expected, not because it was a really close fight. I don't see what Khan has to gain by taking a rematch.

The ref looked at his eye from a foot away and thought it was serious enough to call the doctor. The Doctor ( a man with years of training and experience) looked at the cut from inches away and thought it was serioius enough to stop the fight.

Yet some people on here think they know better.
