Aye, great analogy! Castro threw even f*cking less than Rhodes and Jackson got sloppy, which Alvarez didn't. What a load of sh1te

Hi Ian...
Perhalps you didnt understand what I meant?
What i meant was that Castro got the worst beating I have ever saw but yet still in his HEART believed he could pull it off...and he did.
Ryan never had the belief in the first place.
That was my point.

There's seems to be a complete lack of respect for Rhodes's performance on different boxing forums. It amazes me how fans of the sport can call his performance rubbish I think they'd rather someone go all out swinging with no thought behind it and then get knocked out.
at least Rhodes didn't get on his bicycle for 12 rounds, he did what he could but was beaten in all departments.
People want him to go for it and he didnt, thats the bottom line.
He did go for it but was unable to do what he wanted to do due to Alvarez's dominance.
Would you rather he swung for the hills and got ktfo?
I could do that with no training

lets get back on track
Rhodes was just outclassed by a wide margin. He didn't bottle it, he didn't run, he came forward, stayed in range, and took his lumps. He just wasn't good enough against a guy who looks like he might just be a special talent. No shame in that.
As an aside, anyone else think the ringcard/Corona girls were different class?
This sums it up for me, Alverez was class that night, simple as that. maybe he had a good day at the office and Ryan had a bad one i don't know, but the guy gave a master class.
Can't really say it any better than how Mickey put it really oh and Mickey you were BANG on about the card girls too.......

I'll keep mine pleasant as i'm a...well, a pleasant kinda guy.
I honestly didn't see it that way at all, he never got the chance to get going mate, surely you could see that? Alvarez was bang on the money that night and as it turns out those body shots were hurting Ryan almost from the word go. Not sure if you have ever boxed but no matter how much you want to win or 'lay it on the line' as you say, sometimes it gets beaten out of you.
Also with the non effort comment, thats just silly really, he wouldn't have battled to the 12th round with lack of effort mate, certainly not with the punishment he was getting.
Just my opinion like, but i just don't agree with you on those points.

You're wasting your time mate, Rhodes effort didn't meet his standards an thats that.
God forbid that he came up against someone who was better than him in all departments but he still pursued and tried to engage with no luck.

Wow the 'guardian of Sheffield' has returned with words of wisdom!
To answer your question I believe that a come backing Paul Williams (and he's not even that fast)ices the ginger and what about Martinez? (who btw can still make LM)
However think about this...how many rounds do you think Ryan would have lasted with a peak Paul Williams? I'm guessing about as long as it takes for you to type your shitey biased Sheffield posts.
I like Ryan but he didn't lay it on the line AND ANY OF YOU PEOPLE WHO DISAGREE ON THIS FORUM ARE LYING TO YOURSELVES, face it, the boxing world at large (outside Sheffield:-) knows this and there are many posts & comments about it.

I like reading your posts. They're usually highly opinionated and inflammatory. You like to have a ding-dong with Sir Ian, which makes for interesting reading on here. Sometimes you make some valid points. Difficult to find though, amongst all the vitriol, snide and drivel.
I knew you were gonna respond with 'rangey speedsters' Martinez and Williams, very boring. And it's got no relevance how many rounds Rhodes would have gone with a 'prime' Paul Williams - if my aunt had bollocks she'd be my uncle. It's easy to slag off fighters that are not 'world class' as you call it. Your comment that Alvarez 'isn't all that' wasn't about Alvarez, it was about Rhodes. That's disrespectful and childish.
You obviously read a lot about boxing (a lot more than me anyway) but methinks you digest too many of the par-boiled opinions of boxing journalists and other forum posters, and spew them out on here in bad English. You are hackneyed, and like a regional version of Scot Gilifoid who posts on the awful black and yellow website that I bet you're all over.
'I don't think he gave it enough' would have done, rather than posting all the bullshit analogies and song lyrics to get your spiteful little points across. You should wash your words clean.
Sorry about the bum rape thing though.

Sorry mate but he never laid it on the line and i'm not the only one who thinks that, I sat up during the night and waited for Ryan to shick all those HBO & Mexican nobs who think that the gingers the dogs baws.
I really like Ryan both as a fighter and as a person and I would have loved for him to went out there like the old spice boy and lay it all on the line and punch the gingers kunt in.
