No evidence, but Hobson has mentioned outside influences and numerous fighters seem to be leaving their promoters(usually warren) and signing for Hearn days later. For a contract to be agreed, read through by lawyers, signed and announced in such a short space of time is pushing it, Stephen Smith moved very quickly. I'm not questioning the rights of fighters to leave their promoters if there's a breach of contract, just that they seem to all move to the same promoter and very quickly, suggesting negotiations may have started before the termination of the contract.
You are cooking stuff up in you head. Your first 2 words answered the question. Things can easily happen that quickly. Look at football. What other promoter would they move to?
In football a player can speak to other clubs 6 months from the end of his contract and agents will be making overtures before that, plus, footballers can engineer moves very easily, with transfer fees to compensate the current club, for a fighter, to walk away from a promotional contract isn't always easy. Footballers are paid weekly, so they have a guaranteed source of income, whereas boxers have to wait for the next fight to get paid, unless they are paid a retainer. So they would want to be sure about what they are signing.
Right, but the fighters know that Hearn will get them on sky and that they will be fighting more than they would otherwise. So from a money POV it is almost always going to be a better move for them. Matchroom always say that when a fighter leaves his promotional contract then they will talk to them, that doesn't mean they have anything to do with the actual leaving of. He has also mentioned pretty often that he doesn't do thick contracts as he isn't interested in forcing a fighter to stay with him if they don't want to, so I don't see why it isn't something which can be wrapped up very quickly.
As for football, obviously some can be done months in advance, but there are also cases where they are done in a couple of days, including a flight over for a medical.

Iv now got Gavin a tv deal he is not boxing on my show in December I put the list on before he beat Josh Wale and if he does fight on my bill it will only be a tick over 6 rounder at a few weight higher.. We want the fight why would I get him to mandatory if we didn't want it. Too many boxing fans read too much poo on social network work sites and don't know the facts. And as for Jamie he's had 3 fights in 2 year kid just wants to fight to pay his bills not paying bills been inactive is he.. Pro boxing let's remember is a business as well as a sport you get 1 go at this game it's the fighter getting in the ring putting his life at risk they diserve what ever they can get IMO

It was off your twitter account Steffy. On 3 Oct you said he wouldn't be ready for a fight over 8 weeks away.
One part of your post is about a boxer not getting enough fights and another part is about his twin turning down a fight because one of his trainers is going to Vegas 7 weeks before a fight.

Yes as Gavin was on holiday at the time and when he got back I was away I came back today so how could we be ready for middle of sept when it's now midd October ? Gavin is madatory and deserves his full notice for such a big fight.. That's what I was stating Gavin now as a tv so we will be putting a purse bid in. N my quote on Jamie was just stating the fact he's had 3 fights in 2 years would you be happy with that as a fighter? And only resent recieved his full money from his world title fight.. Only time he got paid on time was when he boxed on a matchroom show in that eliminator.

I don't understand what you mean by mid-September?
Gavin boxed on 28 September. 5 days later you said he wouldn't be ready for 30 November.
You're saying he won't box 6 days later (Dec 6) but then in the same sentence he might box but at several weights higher?
Your last post is difficult to read. Are you saying Jamie hasn't been paid for fights?
You were obviously a big fan of Dennis once upon a time, otherwise you wouldn't have chosen the name of his promotional company as your username.

Gavin boxed on 28th then went on holiday 2 days later to enjoy a break with his girlfriend who is ready to have his baby after a long 10 week training camp. I then went to Vegas day before he was due home so the date given was not enough time around 5 weeks to be ready for such a big fight and been advised his new promoter will put a purse bid in for the fight.
This account was set up for Jamie to use after stick he recieved after beating Napa hence it been named fightacademy but Jamie don't use forums etc.

It's 5 weeks now!
Gavin was back with almost 8 weeks before the Nov 30th date. Considering he'd boxed a couple of weeks before, is that not long enough?
I've never heard of a boxer pulling out of a fight because his manager went on holiday 7 weeks before.
Galahad had a tough fight 2 weeks before Gavin. But then again he was in the gym and not tweeting pictures of booze.

Gavin hasn't pulled out of no fight?
I'm his manager and said no simple as that. Is that a problem?
He's mandatory and sells out Doncaster dome so when it comes to purse bids we will bid n try get home advantage is that a problem?
If Gavin wants to have a beer on HOLIDAY after training 10 weeks 3 times a day for a final eliminator and wins IMO he's allowed to tweet pics of booze on his holiday

Well said!
Whats the rush for Galahad, what difference would 4-6 weeks make?
As a boxing fan Id rather be paying to watch 2 fully fit and fully ready boxers in an even match! It will be interesting to see where the winner of this fight goes as the super bantam division is looking good domestically.

"Is that a problem"
Not to me it isn't. The problem was you claimed he had 5 weeks to train when it was nearer 8. You claimed he wasn't fighting on your bill and then he might (in the same sentence). You claimed on Oct 3 he wasn't fighting on your bill and then a couple of weeks later you've had his name printed on the posters.
The problem is more for his twin who has been stripped of his title after someone has been badly advising him.

Problem problem problem claimed claimed claimed.... The problem is there are people dying in the world. Boxing is just a sport mate. If I want Gavin on my bill in a little keep busy fight then I will.. Whatever his twin does in his career then that's down to him. All he wants to do is fight regularly like rest of lads in his gym

Fair enough. It just seems pointless to keep vehemently denying that he is on the show.

Especially as he's painted himself as the innocent party. I hope it all comes our
You've said the exact same thing earlier in this thread. The fight was live on primetime, Hobson's other option was Sky, where he would have been forced into a co-promotion with Eddie Hearn, forcing him to lose even more money. 4,000 people showed up for an unknown fighter at bantamweight, hardly a popular division here and McDonnell made £160,000, far more than Burns, Cleverly and Froch made for their first world title fights.
He forked out for Ceja to travel to Doncaster, managed to get Howard Foster, another Doncaster man, as referee and Dave Parris as one of the judges, I fail to see what more he could have done. You suggest he's done something 'despicable', possibly pressurising the IBF to strip Jamie, exactly what he deserves. He lined up a TV deal with Allegedly channel for future fights and was seemingly ready to announce the first defence. For a man with no TV deal, a limited fighter who's rarely in exciting fights and has no major fanbase, I'd say he did a brilliant job, only to be fucked over by a combination of McDonnell and Eddie Hearn performing his usual role of tapping up fighter's under contract. Hobson isn't employed as a promoter either, McDonnell is or was employed by him as a fighter.
Thank feck for that

I felt like King Canute
Even Hobson tried to swap the referee on the day of the weigh-in but the board wouldn't allow it.

Full statement from McDonnell. Those accusing Jamie of being disloyal and sticking up for Hobson without seeing the other side of the story look a bit daft now. Hope the appeal overturns the decision and reinstates him

Don't know what this has to do with the topic, but seeing as I read it I might as well comment, Carl Frampton not wanting anything to do with kid G is laughable ! Levels above.

With respect that statement adds nothing to the case nor detracts from it because it does not provide any evidence one way or the other. It us simply Jamie's version of events - so for instance Dennis says yes the mandatory was discussed its one persons word against the other.
Regardless of that I find it incredulous that Jamie didn't know anything about the 6 months mandatory situation - I'm only a fan and I heard about it.

By all accounts Jamie is not even a fan. Had to be told who Sugar Ray Leonard was once. The sort of guy who goes on holiday the day after winning the world title missing valuable publicity...

Jamie is looking after his own future, and signing with matchroom will make him a lot more than hes making now. Even if his appeal is unsuccessful and the title is vacated,he will deffo get a shot at regaining title when Stuey Hall beats Malinga for the vacated belt.
That would be a huge battle for world title on sky sports, a big moneyspinner for both boxers.
