Most would have to make the call of this effecting their careers and likely being disciplined or sacked. Furys made his decision and it means that a good portion of people who paid to see him wont bother paying again and im one of them.

Is his uncle dead? Dying? Or is the possibility of him dying high? If its none of those then he doesnt have a valid excuse for pulling out of the fight. If it is one of those then thats a different matter.
What I'm saying is, without trying to sound arrogant, is I would never be disciplined, or sacked for anything, and I'd imagine Furys family are a lot worse than me!

Whether it was right or wrong,we'll never all agree but one things for sure,Fury cant be shouting off about pull outs again

Haye needed surgery,Chisora suffered a break,as horrible as it is,unless god forbid Hughie dies then Fury will continue to take stick and even a tragedy like that wont stop some people

furys wages are paid by his fans and his promoters if he doesnt have a valid reason for not showing up to a fight then he will lose fans and opportunities made for him by his promoters and it will effect his career. I know plenty of people who dont care if they shirk their responsibilities and people who have walked out on jobs because they refuse to be told they need a valid reason not to be at work or dont feel they should be held responsible for their actions. Some have had reasons i felt were valid some haven't; their choice has not gained any respect from me.

If i dont feel his reason for pulling out of the fight was valid i wont waste my time or money following him and its up to other people to judge his reasons for themselves. As of yet i havent heard the full story, when i have i will make my mind up.

This has also badly effected boxing as a whole and if his reasons for pulling out arent validated he will not have only cost his own career but the sport as a whole. How many fans will this have put off going to a live event in the future when it seems nearly every major fight in the UK is cancelled last minute.

Plenty of gypsy people, or traveller people, get 9 to 5 jobs. My grandparents did. The ones who choose not to tend to at least exist in the twilight world of illegality. That's not a race thing. it's a choice for them. My grandparents chose to become law abiding people.

Pension swindlers ain't a race mate.

My brother in law knows someone on Facebook who bumped into a bloke in the chip shop who knows Tysons neighbour - he told him the real reason for the pull out, but sorry I can't tell anybody (I just told this story because I want to sound cool on the internet to a bunch of people I have never met).

But you have said that this wasn't the reason the fight was called off.

So, what you are saying is that there is a reason however Tyson is using the illness of a family member as an excuse to pull out of the fight without revealing the truth?

family comes 1st at the end of the day, fury gets shit no matter what he does.

the fans wont be there when his careers over, but family will. I doubt when they were in the hospital waiting room he was too bothered about accusations about not wanting to get chinned etc.

ultimately I doubt if he gives a fornicate about the fans, and I don't really blame him, boxing fans are unbelievably fickle. U only have to read the threads on the 2 groves vs froch fights to see that. froch went from having the biggest heart in boxing to a coward to being a bully to being a level above, and all the accusations in-between.

I appreciate Tyson runs his mouth a lot, says crude things and disparages opponents, but im fairly sure its all done in the art of "selling the fight". He doesnt strike me as a man who takes himself to seriously.

And for those that seem to think a critical situation with his uncle isn't enough to warrant a pull out, what men do you think were there for him when his dad F*cked up? guided him through his career and offered him and his family support? I have uncles and aunts i couldn't care less about, others id drop most things in a second to be beside. Every Family relationship is unique.

Great post.

But run your mouth off & you have to deal with shite back from people, frankly. That's the unspoken deal you make when you go out of your way to attract attention: some of the attention you garner is gonna be unwanted, so get ready to shrug it off when the excrement comes into contact with the rotary air circulation device.

It's a two way thing. If you can go "Ah it's all in fun" when he gets to say something stupid, how can one really turn around to others & expect them to stay respectful? I think that's asking a bit much from people, but I have a very low view of the human animal in general, I suppose, so I'm not surprised by the response to all this.

I do agree with your post, but I am not a fan of special pleading.

PS: Just to make it clear, I don't particularly blame Tyson for pulling out the fight, his business. & some of the shite that has been spewed is quite hateful. But if you're fine with him acting the knob-bar then I don't think you have a leg to stand on when it comes to the moral high ground. You make your own bed.

Tyson made a rod for his own back with the relentless "shithouse" comments when he was let down, and he made big claims that he'd never pull out of a fight, etc... However you turn it round, he's got egg on his face now. It doesn't really matter though, he's only young and young people are often daft. Let's just hope his uncle is on the mend soon.

Mmmm.

Personally, I think Peter Fury has taken the view that Tyson isn't in the right frame of mind to tackle a 20 stone 6-9 opponent in a hands down face first brawl. Which is what the fight would be - for the uninitiated, Ustinov is not a hands, up robotic fighter. He' s a lot looser in style than I anticipated when I did some homework. Tyson in his current frame of mind wouldn't box to orders and with so much at stake do you want a fist-fight with a bruiser like that at 4 days notice?

The more outlandish Tyson has gotten, the more he's played to the floor, the more I've begun to believe his 'beast mode' or hyper focus is belying a recklessness or lack of discipline to execute on a game plan.

He's slipped toward self-parody when he's previously always seemed in on the joke before. Self Aware and playing a role to sell. But he's become frenzied, pushed there by the pull outs and no doubt manipulations of the powers that run boxing - whether it be the Germanic brothers with their brothers Grimm or FW here.

The Kugan soundbyte interview with Tyson where he spoke of the knowledge Ustinov had been preparing for this fight for several weeks (he came in career lightest according to his own manager at 37 and 9 months since his last fight) was the final straw. I suspect Peter saw bravado, but an unnerved Tyson, but wishing to maintain Tyson's reputation and not cast any public spotlight on these rumours has opted for the ill-health storyline which I believe to be founded in truth.

There was a lot of money in the Chisora fight, and while his 'people' are proud warriors - they like a torn fiver as much as the next man.

Tyson is a young man who has been in the spotlight since he was 18. He is on the cusp, and has been left frustrated for two years by those with different agendas to his own. I am willing to forgive him this pass, I only wish he'd enforced his wish to have a 10 rounder in April.

That lack of control - the fact he'd come to allegedly as the away fighter also spoke volumes - when he'd spent six years as the attraction, on the left of the bill, has untethered him I suspect.

Peter Fury, wise and dignified as he seems, has spotted it. And acted to intervene.

That is my conclusion.

So if its true that Ustinov has been training for weeks , to fight Tyson , that would indicate that he knew there was going to be a broken hand or whatever , , and the condition he was in suggests that he has been training for quite a while , so it was'nt weeks, in fact it could off, would off, been months,, that he knew about the broken hand ,

Now this seems to suggest that its been a long term elaborate plan to get Tyson , what backs this up is the fact that Tyson himself seemed to think there was a conspiracy theory .

Now knowing he was the victim of this very VERY elabarate conspiracy , he said on the Kugan interviewe he was'nt bothered and he was a fighting man or similar .

Now i agree that it is Peter , who has pulled the fight because Tyson is not in the right frame of mind , This i agree a 1000% , But here Lies the difference , my theory is , , There is NO CONSPIRACY ,, my theory is maybee just maybee , Ustinov has done what Chisora has done , and thats LOOK around , yes look around, and see how piss weak, the heavyweight scene is , and then decided to stop facking about and get in shape ,

Now this i would suggest he decided months ago , because you don't trim down and get in shape in 2, 3 or even 4 weeks , for an heavyweight it takes MONTHS , so based on the fact, that months ago ,he decided to take his carreer a bit more serious , , and got in shape , , well based on that ,when offered a fight with Tyson , he JUMPED AT IT ,, yes jumped at it has a quick way to fast track himself ..

He was offered he took it ,, then at the weigh in Tyson, and co GOT A SHOCK , not only when he looked in shape but he looked liked he actually wanted the fight, and was not in the least intimidated . .

Tyson has then gone public with the, look at him , look at him , he's in shape,, shite , he's not supposed to be like that , he's supposed to be big, and flabby, slow and ponderson , and scared ,, BUT he's not ,, but it don't matter cos i'm a traveller , and were fighting men but i'm being set up , but were fighting men it don't bother me routine ,

This has got uncle Peter worried because , he then has to look at his favorite nephew , and think fack , Tysons meeting a guy his own size and he's worried,, what we gonna do , his minds not on it,, he's worried , so he pulls him out

Tyson not being in the right frame of mind , and Peter pulling him out like i said i think is 1000% correct ,, just what unsettlede his mind , well i don't think it was his uncle getting sick on the day , i think it was Tyson getting sick on the day , big big butterflys in the belly sick , when faced with the thought of fighting a slick, slippy fighter, his own size in good shape , and i think Peter got sick in the belly when he relized the guy was in shape and might do a number on Tyson .

They should of just said , Nope we don't want it , we have been preparing for a short nugetty fighter and you give us lurch .. . But regards the training for Tyson for weeks , bollocks that means he must have knew Chisora was gonna break his hand .

And somehow i believe Chisoras reason for pulling out much more than Tyson , its not fair , i'm being set up Fury .

I didn't describe him as that, but he is more loose limbed than one would presume based on his stats and origin.
