People raving about Cox too much here he has fought overmatched nobodies miles below his level. Put those same opponents with Fielding would probably be the same outcome. A fight with him and Blackledge would indicate if he is any good though.

However, and this may sound weird, i think Smith showed a bit of weakness in there. The one thing you don't need to do against Rock Fielding is get into a 1st round shootout with him. I think the occasion may have got to him. Can't imagine that was the gameplan when he is by far the better boxer.
Don't get me wrong, i was jumping around the living room when he won but in the cold light of day i wonder if it did get to him a bit. Hopefully its a lesson learnt.
I thought Rocky actually landed some pearlers right on the button and had Smith rocked momentarily after the first knock down.
I dunno, its hard to knock the performance but it was a risky little game he played. I'd personally liked to have seen him outbox Fielding. Im probably talking bollocks.
I doubt that was the gameplan, but Mundo caught him early, spotted an opportunity, and changed his plans in order to finish the fight quickly ..................... You could argue that ability to think on his feet, and change his plans, was a positive sign.
True. Smith has proven he can box and go 12 at Euro level (Rebrasse) and now hes proven he can go toe to toe with a decent puncher. Definitely needs to move up to world level now.

Still can t get my head around Cox as a SM,he's even looking small against these low-level blowouts.
He'd be a terror at MW,at SM its only a matter of time until he's outsized and overmatched surely.

I haven't seen him lately but I was surprised to see him up that high in weight

I think he's seeing SM as an easier route to a decent title with Badou Jack his preferred option, and I guess GGG has MW all tied-up so we'll see.
Good luck to him though, really like his style of fighting

We'll see a few fighters move up to 12st soon, short of options at middleweight. Eubank Jr will be one of them, he's not going to fight Golovkin and he can't fight for the WBO either because he has the same trainer as Lee and promotional reasons make a Saunders rematch unlikely.
I think Chudinov is more likely than Jack, easier to make with the link with Hrunov, can't see Jack wanting to go anywhere near Cox.
