I don't think he recovered from the solar plexus shots in the first round, his soul was owned after about 90secs of that fight

He makes me think of a young Foreman the way he follows his opponent 'mummy'-like and then starts swinging away once he gets in range.

Stupid ref misses two clear knockdowns. What a workrate from Joyce, though - crude and slow but great punch selection and utterly relentless.

Foreman is the perfect comparison

That's not a bad comparison, heavylegged, and punching without much velocity but hugely strong limbs just poleaxing into the opponent.

The refs are ruining fights by making them stop when they could issue warning and advices whilst the fight is ongoing. Makes it too easy for someone who is in front to break the Rythmn of the fight.

Dychko looked fairly nimble to start with but he was absolutely knackered in the third. Looks promising for Joyce.

Anyone know if Joyce and Dychko have fought? Dychko is a good boxer with outstanding movement for someone his size, but he lacks physical strength and doesn't take the best shot.

Yes, but Joyce himself doesn't have a good chin too - he was KO'ed 3 times in the first round (by Joshua, Kuzmin and Beguerni), though he doesn't get hit by big punches as frequently nowdays. Joe looks good at this Olympics, but I still slightly favor Dychko to beat him.

Think if I was a promoter it's the big Nigerian kid's signature I would be falling over myself to get, looks like he could do some real damage as a pro if handled right. Big punch & co ordinated for such a big unit, plus chin looks ok too ( unless anyone knows otherwise )

Looks really raw and has a lot to learn but at such a young age he can develop. Reminds me a little of Wilder.

Dychko looked very uncomfortable against the Nigerian kid, and he landed a lot less than Joyce will, think he'll start well, but then get ground down.

He may not even win the first, the last guy Joyce fought was pretty mobile, and Joyce was on him very quickly.

Wasn't a big puncher by any means though, reckon Joyce should hammer away to the body. His body punching seemed the best feature of his work.

Joyce is a bit of a warrior. If he loses it won't be down to lack of effort. Has obvious limitations but if you lack the ability to tough it out, he'll give you all kinds of trouble. His opponenet last night didn't want to know. I enjoy watching him.

Dychko is a pretty good fighter but he's soft. Seen him buckle before although was a while ago now. Dychko is favourite but Joyce is in with a shout.

Hrgovic is a good fighter, he's favourite imo. Maturing nicely and as you say he's been mixing with high class heavies for sometime now. Of this years crop, he's the one to watch when the games are over and most turn pro.

Hrgovic wins first round on all but the officials scorecards. Second round is lively

I think the fact there's French fans in there cheering every shot thrown and the AIBA chief signalling towards Yoka's corner might be affecting the judges cards here.
