I think Warrington would need to be considerably stronger and more physical/explosive to win with pressure against Selby, and I don't think he can outbox him I agree with stus take

Really close fight could've went either way I had it 115-114 Warrington but a lot of those rounds were up for debate, as expected Martinez never stopped coming forward and Josh couldn't keep him off so had to rely on fighting on the back foot all night, I had him winning the 1st half of the fight and Kiko winning the 2nd, Warrington boxed well early on firing out the combinations then getting on his bike, I thought he would've worked the left hook more to try target the swelling to Martinez's head but he mainly relied on the right hands, his work rate dropped second half for me though allowing Martinez to win the rounds forcing the action and working the body well and right hand over the top, decent watch but shows Warrington's level IMO, he's gonna have to sit on his shots more to make an impact at world level, Selby's not a puncher but Warrington doesn't have his class to dominate opponents and doesn't seem to have the strength to stop them coming forward

I know natural power is something your born with but I notice a lot of non punchers don't seem to throw their shots in the same way as noted punchers, as you said punching at the target rather than through, Burns is another one who's delivery doesn't impress me, never punches through the target either or turn his hands into the shots and I personally think that accounts massively for the fact that he hasn't stopped many opponents

I suspect Eddie expected to cash out with Warrington with a world title fight against Selby at Elland Road and when Josh turned down the fight, dropped him like a stone

Watched it back this morning and thought it could have gone either way but just felt that Warrington would get the nod, 116-112 was too wide for me but couldn't argue with a round or two either way. Josh is going to have to step his boxing up another level because his lack of genuine power will see him lose to much less skilled boxers in my opinion.

I don't see JW troubling any of the champs at feather and think he'd struggle to beat most of the top ten actually. I think they may as well get Selby to Leeds for a big night and bumper pay day and see what happens, you never know with Selby as he does blow hot and cold so he may just freeze in the atmosphere.

Warrington was hurt often to the body last night. The right hand in particular done a bit of damage. You could see in his face he was troubled a few times.

Selby isn't a big puncher but he's sharp. I remember he was the first guy to stop John Simpson with a cracking body shot a few years back. Was gutted that night!

Just a thought but if Simpson was anywhere near his best him v Warrington would've been a cracking tear up.

Forgot how good Dempsey is as a anchor.

Good knowledge and says it as it is. So different to the typical yes men.

In regards to Selby-Warrington. I'd favour Selby but styles makes fights and Selby can be lazy and JW best asset is workrate.

JW will win rounds and Selby is his best opportunity at a title.

No way it's a shutout. Most likely 115-113 type score.
