Just seen lebedev won I think wba title today in Russia. So is that the only title that stops the winner of the cruiserweight tournament being the undisputed champion? :bag:

Yes, that's the only major title (WBA/WBC/WBO/IBF) not on the line in the tournament. I thought Leb looked pretty faded today, though he still clearly won.

The winner will still be undisputed.

In fairness there are only 8 slots, they would need most of them just to accommodate WBA champions in most divisions. Hell throw in the odd IBF interim and WBC Emeritus and they need a dozen to bring in the four alphabet letter champs.

In terms of SMW, it should be Groves, Smith and CEJ winning. Unsure on the Brant / Brahmer fight. Brant winning would not surprise me.

CW; Usyk stops Huck in their fight and will get to the final, Bredis / Gassiev could be interesting in the semi final

Breidis will be Usyks opponent in the semis, should they both win. Gassiev/Wlod winner will face the winner of Dorticos/Kudryashov

Brant at 7/4 to beat Braehmar looks interesting. Surely Braehmar will kill himself to make the weight.

Why are they doing 1/3 & 2/4? That's dumb.

That makes the Groves / CEJ fight unlikely to happen. Can see Eubank pulling out

Groves would beat Eubank

Tried to find the starting odds for the Super Six the other day but couldn't get them anywhere. Just going to list the odds for this in case anyone is interested either now or in the future. All odds with PP.

Cruiserweight Tournament -
Oleksander Usyk - 8/11
Murat Gassiev - 10/3
Mairis Briedis - 11/2
Yunier Dorticos - 10/1
Dmitry Kudryashov - 16/1
Mike Perez - 25/1
Krzysztof Wlodarczyk - 50/1
Marco Huck - 60/1

Super Middleweight Tournament -
Callum Smith - 13/8
George Groves - 2/1
Chris Eubank Jr - 7/2
Juergen Braehmer - 12/1
Jamie Cox - 14/1
Avni Yildirim - 16/1
Erik Skoglund - 33/1
Rob Brant - 40/1

Guessing odds may have changed slightly since draws were made, eg Huck being biggest outsider at 60/1 due to facing odds on favourite Usyk in QFs.

Just watched three rounds of Yildrim against Periban ( who Degale made to look like a bum three years ago !!)

Anyone who can box on the back foot beats him with absolute EASE just walks forward chasing no jab high guard.

I'm also quite gobsmacked Callum Smith didn't pick him he is tailor made for Callum. Periban found the body very easily against him......and early.I would go as far as saying that would be a guaranteed ko for Smith inside 3.

Eubank will paste him if they fight.

As for Rob Brant there is no good footage of him and very untested. Could be a dark horse because of the uncertainty factor.

Awesome ko from him here though.

I've seen him on shobox a few times, surprising there isn't footage. I'd be surprised if he lost to Braehmer.

Brant fought at 178 in the amateurs and I was a bit surprised that he campaigned professionally as a MW. Even at 178 he was one of the best punchers on the US scene when I followed the amateurs, and he seems to be producing the KO results lately, though at MW and not at a particularly high level. I'd like to see his fight with Louis Rose, as going by the cards it appeared to be very close.

I notice that Braehmer is a solid favourite for the bout, and while he's certainly got a stronger record and is used to bigger opposition, I think the trajectories are in Brant's favour, with Braehmer quitting last fight due to an injury, being nearly 40, and working as a trainer for Zegue; could be some betting value there.

I'm leaning towards Brant in the fight. Braehmer is coming down a weight division at the age he is, could easily not go well.

Noticed Hearn again saying he didn't see Sky buying the coverage and Fowler was fighting on 30th Sept in Liverpool and someone said only 2 weeks after Callum - so Smiths fight must be on 16th Sept in the Echo.

Said the 1 channel buying all 14 fights isn't looking feasible.

Think some dates are due to be confirmed this week.
