It’s sold 13,000. Same as Crolla-Burns, a lot of Hatton contests. It’s about expected.
This is the undefeated heavyweight champion of the world who you've spent years saying is more popular than ever in his hometown fighting in front of the same number of people as Ricky Burns?
Even if you're right and this isn't some 'everyone walked out to the bar when AJ came out' that's pretty dismal. Haye filled the O2 and his support act was a DJ.
Nobody said that. Nobody left the bar when AJ was on. Maybe 6,000 there in total. Was there.... was there when Haye fought in front of 200. Fury turned pro in front of a sell out crowd... spin it how you like, it’s a crap fight doing good numbers
Ps Crolla was the attraction that night, mate. Burns is Scottish.....

A crowd sold out for Froch, though. Furys debut, that is.

Sefer 4st 8lbs lighter
4 stone 10lbs lighter he weighed in at 15 stones 2oz’s Fury was 19 stone 10 lbs and 2 oz’s... That’s a weight difference on my 11 year old daughter proper mismatch here..
Remember though...
Tony Bellew is far too small to be calling him out The Fury’s don’t really do risks so his comeback was always going to be a laughable opponent.
Just pleased he’s back

Yes, Haye in 2013 was a walkover, undefeated Chisora, Wlad when he was good in his own adopted country. No risks at all.

I thought Fury had whipped himself into some sort of shape ?
God , he's still mahoosive .
I like the attitude he has come back with and even though this is an embarrassment of a match up , I hope he enjoys himself .
Cos when he fights someone that will hit him back properly he will need to take things a tad more seriously .
He has lost eight stone in a matter of months, the first fight back was never going to be the optimum weight, his body has to grow accustomed to elite level training again. What did you expect?

They don’t take risks. Wlad wasn’t a risk at all, it was for the title! That’s not a risk, that’s what it’s all about.
Haye was for big money. Reward outweighed the risk.
Chisora was never a risk. Tyson’s always been far too good for him.
I’m not saying it as a negative Mick, I’m just saying they don’t take risks. It’s not a bad way to go about it really. If the fighter is good enough, he’ll get there. Tyson showed that 100%
What’s it matter if they didn’t fancy Price back in the day for example? He beat Wlad.
You get too touchy when it comes to Tyson. I’m not part of the ‘AJ or Tyson, who do you pick, can’t like both’ mobs. I like both and actually prefer Tyson and hope he gets them all back!

Fury will never have the chiseled body like AJ, a good body doesn't win fights skills do and Fury has them in abundance.

very true, there were some very good heavyweights in the 80s that were fat but skillfull.

Yes he's done well to do that , but he's still a lardarse and I expected a bit better conditioning tbh .

As Rexob said, he has never been that chiselled type and I think his conditioning now, considering where he started from, is on point. You can’t work the body too hard, it wouldn’t have been sensible to add a lot of muscle because when coming from so far back you have to be careful not to put too much stress on the body otherwise you will cause injuries. His current trainer has done a great job with healthy weight reduction, I’m not so sure about his boxing credentials but in the fitness side he seems spot on...

What am I missing here?! I would say, based on who Fury had fought previously, McDermott was a small risk, Chisora was definitely a risk (Fury was the underdog in that first fight), the signed Haye fight, regardless of money was a massive risk (at the time I thought Haye would Ko’him easily based on who’d floored Tyson and fighting Klitschko in Germany was a risk.
Yes - the fight tomorrow is awful but to say he’s not taken risks is quite revisionist.

All about opinions. I’m not sure Fury was underdog against Del Boy first time round either.
Haye could be determined to be a risk but for me the money cancels that out. It’s not a risk when it’s big money or for the pinnacle ( Wlad ) It’s what he’s in the game for isn’t it?
Big John was a bit of a risk to be fair.
When you look at who he’s faced, same with Hughie, it’s been done with a bit of care and thought put in to it. No punchers stands out. It’s not the fighters themselves, it’s just the way they’ve been taken through.
As I said before, it doesn’t matter a jot as long as they’re ready when the big time comes and Tyson showed he was obviously when he beat Wlad.
It’ll be the same this time until Joshua/Wilder.

Are you for real? How quickly do you think the human body can lose weight? He's lost more than 7 stone in a matter of months that is incredible. Give him another 6 months he can be lean he's a human not a robot

When I think of risk in boxing it’s risk about losing fights. I agree he would have been well in paid and as with the Klitschko I’m sure they weighed up the risk vs reward but I’d still say they were very risky fights.
I fancied Mitchell to beat Katsidis in that one. Was gutted. Was always a bit of a Mitchell fan.
Bet you weren’t cheering for him when Burns lit him up was you mate
Nah I was jumping around like a mentalist Again, I didn't expect that to happen! I thought Burns in a close decision.
Thanks, Stuarty I had completely forgotten about that fight, just enjoyed rewatching it...

Mark Heffron is on TV..
Zelfa Barrett misses out.
Even if they started on allegedly from 4pm and switched completely over to BT at 7pm. That would have been okay. But BT probably wanted sole rights to this card.

Fury talking about getting rounds and how friendly these seem isn't a good look.
