Now Kovalev has proved, that he can avenge losses. However, in Ward case I still don't count the 1st fight as a real loss for Sergey.
I agree. I had him clearly getting robbed in that fight. But these idiots bringing up the 2nd fight with Ward as a robbery is still so ridiculous to me....a Kovalev fan clearly invested in him beating Ward that night in 2nd fight. Give it up dudes. Ur clueless. Kovalev was never ever finishing that fight and quit inside the ring. Don’t reward that. Kovalev clearly lost the fight. Kovalev was hit low all night tonight but none of you said a thing about it.
It’s just a dumb horrible argument. Kovalev clearly lost to Ward in the second. Was robbed in first but shut up now about the second you idiots. No boxing IQ at all with u people.

Ward was fouling and the stoppage was early anyway, even if somehow someone doesn't see the finishing blow as a low one. What could have been in the case of not stopping the fight isn't a really good argument. On the other hand, Kovalev was losing the fight indeed prior to the stoppage, as I've already said, obviously that's why it can't be called a robbery. Just a controversial bout.

The real highlight to this fight was the fact that we really should be celebrating an undefeated SURE-FIRE HOF fighter had Kovalev either been smart enough to conserve his output with shorter, smarter punches in his losses instead of blowing his load early leaving nothing In the tank or perhaps his trainers really did let him down in his career like he’s been claiming. Maybe they couldn’t isolate Kov’s deficiencies like Buddy did for this fight or do a good job explaining it to him. Who knows. But he’s an all time great in my eyes.

Had it 12-0, 11-1 at the worst for Kovalev.
He was very disciplined, an impressive display of boxing.

He stopped fighting dude. I’ve seen that in maybe 3 fights in history. No one says that Duran was robbed or that Oliver MCcall was robbed. The ref made the absolute correct decision in the fight. Did he miss some blows? Sure. But that wasn’t the story. That big right hand by Ward was. The fight was over after that punch was landed. He was done. If a fighter stops protecting himself and throwing punches, fights over. Plain and simple. Just let it go and give Ward the credit he deserves unfortunately.

Biggest win of Kovalev career. Coming from such a tough lost and take Alvarez to school. Still, i dont think he is at prime anymore. I see you guys talks again about 2 Ward losses. IMO it was second fight which can i call a robery, not the first. I had first close for Kovalev because of down, but i can understand how Ward edged it because many rounds was close. But second fight? Okay Kovalev was probably going to lose, but come on, that balls shots was insane, and people just praising Ward for that. Not everyone has balls of iron like Lomachenko

Speaking of Bivol, Gvozdyk and Beterbiev, am i only one who thinks Beterbiev is the biggest threat?

But he’d need to actually listen to his new trainer, Buddy McGirt, make a few small adjustments, box smarter and safer, then this might be his last hurrah, meaning that the Krusher is certainly capable of winning this fight by decision, but he’d have to manage his stamina levels carefully in order to accomplish this remarkable feat.

That's what happened, despite only 4% of us calling a Krusher win by decision!
There comes a time in every fighter's career to make these adjustments or quit.

He sparred like that frequently with heavyweights. I had him by decision and he's a great fighter, but I had a sense he was gonna get splattered the first half. Even though he was winning easily he didn't look confident until around the 8th.

...I've not seen THE Krusher this time, but Kovalev showed willingness and ability to adjust, pace himself over 12 rounds, listen to his team, etc.. and as a result has won convincingly..

Kovalev looked like a fighter with a definitive gameplan and he executed it all night. Props to Buddy McGirt for turning Kov around and to Kov for trusting the process and never deviating. Alvarez looked like he was waiting for something all night and I suspect he thought Kov would gas at some point. Fairly boring (repetitive really) fight but it's all about winning, isn't it.
