A lot of people were picking Spence confidently, including myself. Spence was thought to be a textbook boxer, who would school the brawler. But, as I saw it, Spence was outbrawled by Porter. He was taking more hard shots. He didn't look spectacular indeed, not even close to that, as I see this performance as a loss. That's why I'm saying, that Spence was overrated by many, including myself.NateJR wrote: ↑29 Sep 2019, 09:17Overrated in what sense? It was clearly a tricky match up for Spence considering he was in against a durable, awkward fighter who was also in his prime and much more experienced when it comes to these types of fights. In reality Porter could have been undefeated going into this fight, because it's not like he's ever laid down and got beaten handedly, even by Brook or Thurman (there was a bit of controversy surrounding the aftermath of those fights as well.)
I've always favored Crawford over Spence and I still favor Spence over everyone else in the division.
I felt Spence deserved the nod last night. Did he look spectacular? No. But he looked less than invincible against possibly the 3rd best fighter in the division. I wouldn't call Spence overrated, he's a fine fighter.
Yet I have always been calling Crawford the best as well. And now I'm even more sure about that.
