My point was that Xu couldn't be persuaded to come over with the IBF title on the line. Now It isn't but we're expected to believe that he's coming in a few weeks?
Warrington could have fought Galahad instead of vacating.

In a interview hearn said xu wanted to fight infront of crowd. Fighting kid would have altered the xu April date. The fight with lara was made on 3/4 weeks notice. Warrington was training for can xu next week.

I'm just glad to see Warrington back in the ring, but have absolutely no desire to him fight a guy he's already beaten & who was more interested in spoiling when challenging for his first world title attempt

Given the time Josh has been out Lara seems satisfactory, but he must push on afterwards to something more meaningful.

Such a shame the Oscar Valdez fight couldn't be made. That said, Valdez goes where eagles dare in a couple of weeks and challenges the superb Miguel Berchelt.

I had or have no desire to see him fight Galahad again. The fight against Lara is crap (reminds me a bit of some FW’s old WBO title fights) but if it’s quickly followed by Xu then it won’t bother me too much. At least there are a couple of other decent fights on the undercard.

I think it probably is. He knows that Josh left FW after he seemingly did a good job for him and things haven’t gone well so far so he’ll want to show that Josh made the right decision.

Worryingly Hearn has spoken about doing a PPV show at the end of April with the strongest card he’s ever done so I’d assume he’s planning Warrington vs Xu on that. Hopefully doesn’t happen that way and they get it on normal Sky Sports.

For what? Someone who won't defend the title and won't travel?
Oscar Valdez? Why would he go to Leeds? You may as well have said it's a shame the Teofimo Lopez fight couldn't be made.

Pugilist-specialist, You may have somehow failed to notice that Warrington is a huge draw in Leeds so he can pick and choose if he decides to travel. This has been earned over years of hard work and entertaining his fans.

I'm sure for the right fight and money Warrington will go to the States.

The Lara fight is a perfectly acceptable non-title fight and gives Warrington a much needed chance to shed some ring rust.

If he beats Lara, then Hearn needs to deliver big.

Thats what hearn said in a interview kid was happy to step aside for feb date with can xu warrington and a fee to him. But when the dates changed he wasn't prepared to wait any longer and got his legal team involved which was fair enough

Kiko Martinez: I am an offensive fighter and I know that I can hurt Zelfa Barrett

Heavy-handed pressure fighter Kiko Martinez will step up in weight to face once-beaten Zelfa Barrett in a scheduled 10-round junior lightweight contest at the SSE Arena in London on Saturday.

Martinez, who previously held the IBF junior featherweight title, is delighted to still be active despite the COVID-19 pandemic.

“I am very happy with this opportunity,” Martinez (41-9-2, 29 knockouts) told The Ring through Oscar Zardain. “I am very thankful to my team and Eddie Hearn. With all this shit of Coronavirus around it is amazing that all the best promoters are still counting on me for the big fights. Barrett will be a serious test.”

This matchup figures to be an interesting clash of styles. However, the battle-hardened warrior from Spain feels that his greater experience will pave the way to victory.

“[Barrett] has excellent footwork and a lot of defensive skills,” said Martinez. “I think he is a good fighter, but he is not yet on the same level of the top champions that I fought in the past.

“I am an offensive fighter and I know that I can hurt him and win the fight in the last rounds.”

The all-action power-puncher has trained diligently at home in Elche and also Madrid with his head trainer, Tinín Rodríguez, and assistant, Vicente Fernández.

Although, Martinez, who turns 35 in March, is at the veteran stage of his career, he still feels that he can contend for further titles.

“My goal is to win a third European championship in a new category,” said Martinez, who won that title at 122 and 126 pounds. “Also, if I win on Saturday with an IBF (regional) title at stake, I would love to fight the winner of [Kid] Galahad-[Jazza] Dickens for the IBF 126-world title. I love to fight British people (laughs).”

Barrett is the nephew of former British and European titleholder, and WBO junior welterweight title challenger, Pat Barrett. He turned professional in 2014 and won his first 19 outings before dropping a 12-round majority decision to Ronnie Clark in February 2018. Since then, the 27-year-old has reeled off five wins and collected the Commonwealth title. This is the first step into European class for Barrett, who sports a record of 24-1, 15 KOs.
