Can’t have an open stadium fight in February though. Imagine it. Minus 2 and sleet.
I would’ve thought that had an effect. But still a huge name. These ticket sales won’t be for Kell BrookRuthless-RKO wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 15:45His name never declined. Just he never fights and mostly fought in US recently.JamesPhilips wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 15:21 Wow. I guess Amir Khan is a much bigger name still than I thought

Yeh definitely. Khan will always sell tickets, but against the right opponents or someone the fans to see him fight, he’ll sell out.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 16:29 Some people need a dance partner. Khan-Kotelnik was half full. Barrera was nearly full. Fury-Haye sold In minutes, other Fury fights haven't.
It was the match. Haye got nowhere near selling out The O2 in his home area. He was at Huddersfield sports centre as a European champion with a couple of hundred people there.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 16:31Yeh definitely. With more or less any boxer.
The Haye-Fury was probably more Haye than Fury at the time.
From memory Haye sold out or got close selling out the MEN against Ruiz and Harrison. Sold well at the O2 against Enzo and sold 30,000 against Del Boy. He was a long way off from his Huddersfield and Altrincham days. The fight certainly helped but Haye was selling against anyone at that point.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 16:38It was the match. Yeh, a few of his HW fights took place at MEN arena. Not even near his home city.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 17:19From memory Haye sold out or got close selling out the MEN against Ruiz and Harrison. Griffin?mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 17:48 Griffin was at The O2 and caused huge controversy when he started a 2-1 deal after they'd gone on sale. It was after Enzo.

Yeah - whilst Haye sold well against Enzo he didn’t cross over until Valuev. He had the world title belt and was on the chat show circuit. I watched that fight in a packed sports bar and everyone was watching it there. Ruiz came after that it was the first time my casual mates joined me to a Haye fight. A few of them joined me to Hamburg too for the Klitschko fight.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 18:08Barrett.maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 18:00Griffin?mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 17:48 Griffin was at The O2 and caused huge controversy when he started a 2-1 deal after they'd gone on sale. Was you out with us lot in Hamburg?maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 18:13Yeah - whilst Haye sold well against Enzo he didn’t cross over until Valuev. No - for some reason we decided to drive over for it. Left work mid afternoon on the Friday, got the ferry, one night in Holland and then hit Hamburg at 2pm on the Saturday. We ballsed up in not having a clue where the stadium was in relation to the Reaperbahn so tried walking back to some bars and got absolutely drenched. By the time we found a taxi, we just went back to the hotel bar.mickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 18:21Was you out with us lot in Hamburg?maverick23 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 18:13Yeah - whilst Haye sold well against Enzo he didn’t cross over until Valuev. Good God, not the thermostatmickey1975 wrote: ↑13 Dec 2021, 19:04 There was a strong boxrec turn out in Hamburg. Mickey Helliet, Buncey, Dave Coldwell. I can't confirm Coldwell tried to get ForceFraser to wrestle with Shirow back at the hotel. I did notice him messing around with a thermostat, though.

We didn’t see enough of Hamburg to properly judge but Düsseldorf was good fun. Frankfurt was a great place.
I wonder if FW will go after Boxxer with this like he’s consistently done with Matchroom.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 04:50 Ticketmaster themselves are selling "premium" tickets. Around £500 for lower tier. Face value was less than half that, from them! Ringside has doubled as well, £2,500. There's nothing premium about them. They're exactly the same seats. I think I paid £80 for lower tier Hatton-Kostya and Calzaghe-Lacy and only a couple of years ago £60 for WWE. I even only paid £90 for front row Beyonce. £50 for Phoenix Nights Live. All at the same venue. Boxing is horrible at times.
Hearn reckoned the fight wouldn’t do 1 million buys.mickey1975 wrote: ↑14 Dec 2021, 04:50 Ticketmaster themselves are selling "premium" tickets. Around £500 for lower tier.
