Spence vs Ugas and Fury vs Whyte the bookmakers put the odds very similar for both fights.
Tyson Fury - 2/9
Dillian Whyte - 4/1
Draw - 45/1
Errol Spence Jr - 2/9
Yordenis Ugas - 9/2
Draw - 22/1
Anyone else think these odds are a) too close for Fury/Whyte...and b) too winde for Spence/Ugas?

Dillian and Yordenis will both be very live underdogs against the betting favourites they're facing.
Both of those guys are being underestimated.

Fairly interesting card. I was annoyed Ugas didn't jump on Spence in Round 6 when he hurt him a little as that was really the only advantage he ever had to seize on in the fight. Once that passed it was just onward to getting your swoll shut town
Isaac Cruz really beat the sh*t out of Gamboa in there. I don't know why they even let it continue after the 4th round. He had getting rattled badly from Round 1 on. Every round.

DrDuke wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 02:39 So, my belief in Ugas wasn't justified, but it was a nice effort by the Cuban. I enjoyed the fight and I don't agree with Farhood's shotout score in the first 5 rounds. It was a clash of the two elite competitors, something that moderm boxing lacks. The 6th round wasn't anything surprising. Actually, Spence could even be given a count there, the ropes helped him to regain balance after taking a clean punch. It's quite admirable, how Spence bounced back in the 7th, since then it was totally his fight. You know what, this fight ultimately forced me to give Spence more chances against Crawford than before, although I'm still picking Bud to win.
I agree with you on everything, except I favor Crawford more after this fight. As you said, this was a relatively competitive fight through 6, with Spence really putting a beating on Ugas after that. I felt that Spence, while having a high workrate, left himself open to counters and just looked a little slow to me. Ugas was not active enough, didn't keep his jab going, and fought from the wrong distance as the fight progressed. Ugas also didn't follow up like he should have in the 6th Round.
Spence vs. Crawford is a close one, but I favor Bud.

That’s probably cus dodge ref decided Spence should finally get his gum shield back in his mouth.
Re: Errol Spence vs. Yordenis Ugas | Showtime PPV - April 16, 2022
True, but it could've waited a few seconds at least. Spence was still noticeably hurt at the moment he caught that break. Of course Ugas caught him like that in the first place because he was distracted by losing his mouthpiece, but...whatever the reason if you got a guy hurt, hurt him worse while you can. Especially if you're losing to him.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 13:27That’s probably cus dodge ref decided Spence should finally get his gum shield back in his mouth.

When Ugas got hurt, Spence seemed to have gotten a little desperate looking for that stoppage.gilgamesh wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 13:30True, but it could've waited a few seconds at least. I don't really recall Ugas being really badly stunned at any point, just his eye getting increasingly f*cked up.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 13:39When Ugas got hurt, Spence seemed to have gotten a little desperate looking for that stoppage.gilgamesh wrote: ↑17 Apr 2022, 13:30True, but it could've waited a few seconds at least. I think some folks forget the effect of hard body shots and how it affects an opponent's mobility. Ugas slowed down because of it, and so will Crawford. Spence is about 3 inches taller, stronger, and has under-rated skills. Crawford may have more tools, but my money is on Spence.

I note the PBC You Tube Channel is premiering the full fight reply in April 2023 !
Appreciate it was a PPV, but keeping it on lock for a whole year feels a bit stingy of em !

Errol Spence-Yordenis Ugas Generates $5,000,260 Live Gate From 37,022 Ticket Sold
Errol Spence not only reestablished himself as the leader of the welterweight division but also box-office gold.
The unbeaten Desoto, Texas native was brilliant in a tenth-round stoppage of Yordenis Ugas to win the WBA welterweight title and defend his WBC/IBF belts atop an April 16 Showtime Pay-Per-View event from AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.
The show marked Spence’s third appearance at the home of the NFL’s Dallas Cowboys, minutes from his hometown. It generated a live gate of $5,000,260 from 37,022 tickets sold according to the final Promoter Tax Report filed with the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation, a copy of which was obtained by Boxing Scene.
Another 3,806 complimentary tickets were issued for a total fan attendance of 40,828, strangely exceeding the 39,946 total attendance figure issued on fight night.
Final pay-per-view figures were never released for the event, though the most optimistic projections indicate just north of 250,000 units sold.
Spence fought for the first time since recovering from surgery to repair a retinal detachment discovered ahead of his scheduled fight with legendary former eight-division titlist Manny Pacquiao last August. The injury was discovered during a pre-fight medical review, forcing Spence out of the dream fight and with the opportunity instead going to Ugas (27-5, 12KOs) who outpointed Pacquiao (62-8-2, 39KOs) over twelve rounds to defend his WBA title.
The setback left Spence out of the ring for a total of 16 months since his December 2020 win over Danny Garcia, which came following a 15-month absence due to his recovering from injuries sustained in a single-car crash in October 2019. His win over Garcia also took place at AT&T Stadium, with that event pulling a live gate of $2,615,075 from 14,508 tickets sold at a time when social distancing was still in effect due to Covid protocol.
Spence debuted at the state-of-the-art AT&T Stadium in March 2019, when he outpointed then-unbeaten former four-division titlist Mikey Garcia in front of an announced crowd of 47,525 for their Fox Sports Pay-Per-View event.
The win over Ugas marked the sixth overall title defense for Spence since first winning the IBF welterweight title in an eleventh-round stoppage of Kell Brook in May 2017 on the road in Sheffield, England. All but two title defenses have taken place in the greater Dallas area, beginning with his first-round knockout of IBF mandatory challenger Carlos Ocampo atop a June 2018 Showtime telecast in front of an announced crowd of 12,604 from the Ford Center at The Star in Frisco, Texas.
Spence added the WBC title with a 12-round, split decision win over Shawn Porter in their memorable September 2019 Fox Sports PPV headliner from Staples Center in Los Angeles. The event produced a live gate of $2,257,155 from 12,671 tickets sold and another 1,390 complimentary tickets issued.
Whom Spence next faces will ultimately determine where he next fights. Looming ahead is an industry-wide desired four-belt, undisputed championship showdown with WBO welterweight titlist Terence Crawford (38-0, 29KOs). Such a bout—if it gets made—would likely take place in Las Vegas. Spence will have dealer’s choice against any other opponent in or around the welterweight division, as shown in the receipts from his last several events.

Someone in the comments section is saying not only are comp tickets given, but people are now given PPV codes for free PPV’s to inflate numbers.
Can that be true.

Re: Errol Spence vs. Yordenis Ugas | Showtime PPV - April 16, 2022
Yeah, no way this did anywhere near 250K. Spence Jr. is not a draw, and Ugas has negative fans. They can feel free to keep pumping fake numbers though, it's only hurting the investor's pocket books. They're dumb enough to keep fronting money to Haymon and PBC.Ruthless-RKO wrote: ↑28 May 2022, 05:03 Someone in the comments section is saying not only are comp tickets given, but people are now given PPV codes for free PPV’s to inflate numbers.![]()
Can that be true.
Spence Jr./Crawford might do 250K, but even that isn't a sure thing. The only draws in boxing at the moment are Canelo and Joshua. Mikey Garcia might've been one if he was still undefeated, and if Ryan Garcia keeps winning, he'll be the next PPV sensation.
