Either someone’s lost decent money or no one’s ending up with a good payday.
For me, bar Canelo and mega fights, PPV is dead in the US. That doesn’t mean it won’t continually be used though.
75,000 for this. 65,000 for Andy Ruiz’s fight against Ortiz. They should have just put them in together at the start or kept them off PPV.
PPV has been routinely abused.
It was once a great way to entice boxers to find their pens.
Not any more.
They're now asking PPV for fights that wouldn't make much impact on free to air TV.
Hearn shouldn't blame the fans.
Instead he should look at himself and his fellow promoters for not delivering those few true PPV fights available.
He can also blame Conor Benn.
