You can't go against physics. "Mighty Mouse" in the UFC may be the best MMA fighter in the world p4p but there's no way that a 135-140 pound man is beating a Brock Lesnar or anything remotely close to that. Maybe a 265 pounder who doesn't know how to fight at all, but not someone with some ability and IQ.
In a fight with rules then yes the small guy will struggle. But with no rules its who is quickest to go for the balls or eyes and nobody was quicker than Bruce.
Bruce Lee's all-time favorite fighting technique was "The Finger-Jab".

You know even one of the greatest all-time boxers couldnt capture Bruce Lee's "Dynamism"
when he had some fight scenes in his films.
check out Sugar Ray Leonard's fight scenes in the 1991 movie RIOT ( and judge for yourself)

His intelligence and speed and athleticism would probably allow him to rise the ranks but would get exposed when he went against a top ten r' or any ol pro who knew the tricks of the trade... I love the guy but can't see him being overly successful as a boxer..but you never know, that man accomplished anything he put his mind to.

Bruce Lee was born in America grew up in Hong Kong during his youth but returned to America just before his 18th birthday.
Dude this aint the old world with their cast or class systems.
Bruce Lee could have became anything he put his mind to including the best Martial Artists in the World !

That trailer was phenomenon alright, but I'm not sure it qualifies as cultural.
Did Nino Benvenuti get a cameo, they became friends while Monzon was in Italy.
Sometimes these foreign film names don't match how they get archived on IMDB, (I can't get an IMDB match) anyone know if this is the film where he played the character: El Macho / The Buzzard
Can anyone translate any of the Italian?
Too bad they both bought it so young (well not really Monzon probably deserved it) they could have made a crossover film The Crow vs. The Buzzard.

Some of you idiots are forgetting the facts.
1. Wilt Chamberlain is the greatest heavyweight of all time.
2. Bruce Lee is the best fighter in the history of fights.
3. Bruce Lee had more fights than Wilt.
4. He is a lot smallerer than Wilt.

well I definately think that Wilt Chamberlain would have given Bruce Lee a more difficult fight then Kareem Abdul Jabbar did.
But Bruce Lee also had to fight a whole bunch of other people on his way to the top of the Pagoda,so he was already tired when he fought Abdul Jabbar.

The question is moot because Lee was never a competitive fighter as an amateur or pro. He never competed in amateur karate tournaments against other national or world-level martial artists. He never won a national title, or competed in something like the Olympics or Pan-American games. Lee was just a TV actor who knew karate. Nothing more.
If Lee never competed in real fights against other karate fighters, there's no basis for speculating about how he would have made the transition from karate to boxing.

Everyone surmising if he could switch from martial arts to boxing but isn’t the thread title asking how he would of done taking up boxing instead of martial arts ? Probably quite well I’d guess considering his attributes, impossible to know for sure though

anyone here ever heard of Saensak Mangsurin ?
he was a Thai Kick Boxing champion who turned pro (Western) Boxing
and won the WBa Light-welterweight championship after on;y his 3rd pro bout.
(setting a world record)
Bruce Lee would be knocking people out in a similiar manner.
but more aggressive of course like "Fighting" Harada
