Not in the tape I've seen. Clay gets up just seconds before the bell to start the 5th:

Look at 3:10 through 4:14 for the activities between rounds.

I have been surfing the net since 1998 and have witnessed internet wars that went on for weeks but that was the funniest line I ever read...

And the "sipping water through a rolled up newspaper" parody was hilarious...

Mitch Green and Tony Tucker were able to last against Mike, because they weren't scared of him, had some boxing ability, and in Green's case especially, a solid chin.

That Freaky Deaky fella knew his stuff -- he was well aware a prime Tyson could knockout a family of Silverbacks one-handed and with seven bullets in his chest.

Holmes was good, but no Ali. i see Tyson finding no problem getting passed Holmes' jab after a few rounds.
....
Compare Tysons and Holyfields fights with Alex Stewart and you'll convince yourself Tyson must be the better man.

Of course Holyfield proved that notion wrong in the ring.

Holyfield might not demolish guys early, but he will win.

Prime Tyson threads should be banned.... All these ridiculous Tysonites rear their ugly heads, who have no genuine knowledge of the great fighters they are picking their icon over.

Legendary iron chin tough guys like Ali and Holmes knocked out in their primes by a guy who lost every tough fight he had via stoppage....

Sweet jesus christ almighty.

Just put a f=cking bullet in my head.

Sir, I hope you are not including me in that loathsome group...I do not think a prime Mike Tyson beats a prime Muhammad Ali or a prime Larry Holmes as my posts in this thread and other threads attest...

It is surprising thought the number of people I meet who still believe Mike Tyson could beat some of boxing's all time greats...

Everybody has opinions..I don't think Tyson ever beats Ali but that's just my opinion...There are a lot of people on this site who know a lot about boxing ...I wanted their opinion on Tyson...There have been certainly been worse heavyweight champions than Tyson, several of whom he actually beat...

No i wasn't putting you in that loathsome Tysonite group my long-winded name having friend 'TOIH2008'.

I like Tysons fights and at he obviously beats up a large selection of past and ALL present champs.

But when these Tyson-obsessives turn a blind eye to what a pure boxer coming to win in Douglas did to him, and what a true hard nut standing in with him & trading in Holyfield did to him, and still pick him over men like Ali and Holmes (and by kayo no less!!) it doesn't take a genius to figure out they watch a few You Tube clips and have no real knowledge of past boxing greats, and certainly not the inclination to learn anything about them.

Do these guys really think Joe Frazier or Joe Louis or George Foreman will fall down like an out of shape & cynical Tony Tubbs?

C'mon....

Joe Louis got knocked down plenty of times.

George Foreman got knocked out by feather fisted Ali.

Joe Frazier did the chicken dance when he fought Foreman...

Mike Tyson would murder these bums.

"Joe Louis got knocked down plenty of times."

But he always got up which is the measure of a boxer and man...Has Tyson ever picked himself off the canvass to win a fight?

"George Foreman got knocked out by feather fisted Ali."

Once in eighty one fights

"Joe Frazier did the chicken dance when he fought Foreman..."

Foreman had his number

Mike Tyson would be murdered by these fellas.
Correct

IMO, Tyson is a Big What-If Scenario.

We all know in 1985-1988 he developed increidbly quick and turned into a solid HW. Not just winning but destroying his opponents.

I feel to many people look at Tysons career during his personal Downfall i.e. Just before he went to prison and after he went to Prison.

I myself personally feel had Tyson developed smoothly like any other Boxer, i.e. that is not having his coach/step-father dying, not being influenced by Don King and laying of the Alcohol/Drugs, he could have easily been Ranked #1 in anyones all time List.

Obviously that is not the case since he usually trained half-heartedly for fights and just looked for a 1 Punch KO. The latter of his fights he just came for the Pay Day.

Tyson is certainly a sad story. His Prime certainly intrests anyone even slightly intrested in Boxing, but i guess his Prime was too short to really make a solid statement that he would be No.1 over the likes of Ali, Frazier etc.

I personally do understand why Tyson Fans would rate him No. 2 or No. 3 of all time lists.

That 's the best acting job evah...And the people who paid Tyson got their money's worth...He's looks like he was run over by a truck...

I'll give him credit...In that fight he ate a lot more punches than any sane man would have...

Tyson knew he couldn't beat Lewis on the cards after Lewis got that gift decision against Holyfield.

Lewis barely hurt him, Tyson quit.

Prime Tyson would molest Lennox Lewis.
