Is Cabellero just a limited fighter with freakish size for the weight like i heard?
Autobarn wrote:re Caballero - Well let's see, in one or two fights he didn't look so hot. But he stoped Molitor in Canada, Sitchatchawal in Thailand, outslugged Ponce de Leon in California (PDL adopted home). He's a unified champ and is in the Ring top 10 p4p. If he was "just" a big guy I don't think he would have done that much. He can make hard work of things but when he's put in a hard situation he really shows that elite level quality.
The one interesting thing linking Dunne and Caballero - Caballero also won the "regular" title, also. Took him a long time to be able to get hold of the proper WBA champ.
Dunne - talented, popular, etc. Perfect fighter for Caballero to come over and smash in his hometown. This is what CC does in his sleep, beat up the home boy who calls himself champ. Wonder if the Dunne fans would want to see that fight!
Props to Dunne. Has learned to survive and get the win.

Hopefully he can defend his eliminator in the near future so......lowersmiths wrote:Autobarn wrote: The one interesting thing linking Dunne and Caballero - Caballero also won the "regular" title, also. Took him a long time to be able to get hold of the proper WBA champ.

wrong. cabellero beat somsak for the proper wba title without any of this super title bullshit being involved.
dunne isnt a world champion and he should not be referred to as such - all he has done is win an eliminator against cordoba.

it's still the WBA splitting their title to get more sanctioning fees.lowersmiths wrote:Autobarn wrote: The one interesting thing linking Dunne and Caballero - Caballero also won the "regular" title, also. Took him a long time to be able to get hold of the proper WBA champ.

Not really, I do agree with you in a way.lowersmiths wrote:

no it's not life, it's the WBA destroying boxing by creating fake belts.BigEars wrote:Not really, I do agree with you in a way.lowersmiths wrote:

But to me Caballero isn't much more of a World Champion. Israel Vasquez is the true Super-Bantamweight champion of the World and everyone else is just a contender no matter what they have around their waist. Some contenders are just a bit better than others, Dunne has established himself as a very good contender and due to the nature of modern boxing has a 'World title' to defend.
Yes it is the 'regular' title which shouldn't even exist, but if boxing was right the WBC, WBA, IBF and WBO wouldn't exist we'd only have one effing belt. But that's life .
Caballero's a great fighter, but he'll never be given a shot at vazquez as he presents too much risk. He's a worthy champ in his own right IMO, done everything else a fighter could do, winning a title away from home, destroying Molitor in unification, etc. He's considered a top p4p fighter and is a threat to anyone. I feel multiple world champs are just a reality.BigEars wrote:Not really, I do agree with you in a way.lowersmiths wrote:

HAVE TO AGREE with you a great great performance i take my hat of to Dunne and Peters for having the balls to make the fight. Also would like to say it was a great day to be in Dublin what with the rugby and Dunnes win.TerribleTerry wrote:3 knockdowns in the 11th give Dunne the WBA strap.
Great win for the Dublin man. Cordoba was tough, talented and I thought at the end of the 10th he might pull away from Dunne with his raking body attackes but Dunne sucked it up and brought the title home..
Even Frank Maloney would have to admit that was a fantastic performance from Dunne - he fought like a man possessed!
What a great day for Irish sport
Cool, I take it then that Dunne-Munroe is imminent 8)FtmPress wrote:HAVE TO AGREE with you a great great performance i take my hat of to Dunne and Peters for having the balls to make the fight. Your predictions are getting no better, I seeDG. wrote:No dissing Frank Maloney.....
Personally I think Frank cares for his fighters, you only have to see his face and hear the emotion in his voice when hs fighter wins/loses.
Keep up the good work, Frank.
Ps, Fwank Warren might be the biggest promoter in the UK/Europe but in my book he serves up too much rubbish and fully warrants the FWANK title.
PS, also ask him why he clapped when Enzo Macc was hurt in the 3rd round againt Alo Afffllalallalalaalalabbiii!
PPS..Dunne getting MASHED tonight!
Fair play FrankFtmPress wrote:HAVE TO AGREE with you a great great performance i take my hat of to Dunne and Peters for having the balls to make the fight.
