I'm glad you had a great time fishing. Whenever I see your photos, I always think about my Dad, who was a great fly fisherman. Sadly, I just got back from visiting my Dad, who was admitted to a nursing home last week when I was in Chicago. He's failing fast, and I don't think he'll be with us by Christmas. I'll miss him.
I'm sorry to hear about your father, Tom. I lost my father 28 years ago. It seems like yesterday. See your father as often as possible and make the very best of whatever time God gives you with him. I'll keep you and your family in my prayers.
Randy
Thanks Randy.

Thanks Randy,
It was a great 4 days of fishing and camping with Frankie, TV Ray and his son Pepe, Pepe's son Roland and Pepe's friend Mitch. But most of all spenting time with Frankie, even though he has his home across the street from us, we don't get together often. It has to do with his wife, I don't want write anything about it here, maybe some day when we are together in person I can tell you all about it.

As every man here knows even in the best of situations a wife can, at times, be difficult. In the worst of situations, impossible.

Frank, in a pinch, Menudito will do the trick. Whenever I have Menudo without the patas, I am always fully aware of it and I'm disappointed but still, any Menudo is better than no Menudo at all.

Frank, looking at the way those rocks are situated, I might have fished at that exact same spot.

It's a funny thing about the food we grew up with. It continues to nourish us for the rest of our lives. We grow up, try different foods, learn to like it, learn love a lot of it. But when it comes to the food that reaches deep down inside of us, it's still the food that we grew up with that fully satisfies us. It's the food that you grew up with that will fix you up when you feel sick, bring you back when you feel down. For me and you Frank, it's Menudo con pata, Chorizo con huevos or Chle Verde. Good simple mexican food. made with love.

It's been a few years since I have been in the Sierra's but I have fished most of the lakes in the area, including the Twin Lakes, Crowley, and the June Lake loop, as well as the Owen's river.

Guys . . .
I'm no fisherman, but I have a childhood friend that lives up in Bridgeport.
He fishes a lot at Convict Lake which is close to where he lives.
He loves the place. He calls it his "Heaven on Earth".

Rick, in Bridgeport, 13 miles away you have twin lakes, 2 of the best lakes to fish for trout in California.
I call the Bridegport area "God's Country"
