Yeah, Boxingnut. The guy who can give you the best update is our "El Gato", Rodolfo Gonzalez. I know he and Barbara are going to check back in tonight, and I'll call to have him give this post special attention.

Gato & Syers talk weekly, and often attend boxing functions together. Gato told me that Syers has been battling cancer, but I don't know the details. You know, I bet Rodolfo would pass on your interest to Alan, and maybe he's "stop in" for a quick visit? Can't hurt to ask.

There used to be a spot on Imperial Avenue called R&M Bar B Q. Ruth and Martha,two good 'ol gals owned the joint. It was next to Battle's Used Furniture. Well I'm tellin' you,it was theeeeee best. No sit down,only to go. These two 'ol gals would cook this stuff up and you could smell it all away across the cemetary. I used to go to the cemetary and I didn't even no anyone buried there. They'd give you the food in these big 'ol brown paper bags and the the sauce and the fat would be drippin' through the bags. Ruth and Martha's specialty was a side prder of "Soul Spaghetti". Some spicy meatball!
Well wouldn't you know it. Ruth and Martha sell the place so they can move near the university figurung they could make more money. They move in to their new place,but the city shuts them down!! The city tells them that all their plumbing fixtures are out of date. Not up to code. The two 'ol gals run out of money to buy new fixtures,and now they can't open.

What the hell do those city guys know about Bar B Q anyway?

Rodolfo "El Gato" Gonzalez and Carlos Palomino have been filming a commercial this week, and this is why Gato has been unavailable to us. I talked with Barbara earlier, and she said they would try tonight, depending on what time Rodolfo wrapped the commercial shoot. If it's too late, they get back ASAP.

Armando Muniz may drop by as well.

About 8 years ago I get these soft contact lenses. I'd been wearin' glasses just about all my life and I got tired of all the scratches and being called 4 eyes. I get these contact lenses and they're great. You don't have to get used to 'em and you can even wear them when you're sleeping.

Well the eye doc gives me this solution of eye drops to put in my eyes if they get itchy or start burnin' from the contacts. To be honest,I've never used the stuff. Never opened one bottle. See what I do if I'm having discomfort is think of something like you said the other night about Jerry Quarry bein' on the television with his mom and how Jerry said the reason he's havin difficulty is because he got hurt playin' "football."

I guess those eye doctors don't know that tears work better than eye drops. The only thing is ,it doesn't make the pain go away.
