Whatever way we look at things Setanta have been fantastic for boxing - absolutely brilliant in my view - but things I am hearing are not good and if they are in as much trouble as some people say then I will be gutted for selfish reasons as well as more general ones!!!

I'd be amazed if this WASN'T about money.

The way I am looking at it, is that Setanta can't afford the pay Haye, so if Haye did fight, then he would be fighting for nothing. I don't think there's a fighter out there who would fight Wlad for nothing. I don't see why Haye should.

This is one of the main reasons i don't look to go to big fights abroad, i would be able to afford 1 trip a year, and its too big a risk when fights keep getting called off , feel gutted for all you lads that had tickets, flights etc booked

Haye showed his 'bottle' against Mormeck and Fragomeni, of course, and real character to rebound from Thompson.

David Price, one of Haye's sparring partners admits to the Liverpool Echo today that he was sworn to secrecy over the withdrawal of Haye from the Klitschko fight despite being at the centre of Haye's camp over the past two months.

"I'll be honest, I came home on Monday, but the last time I saw David he was in great shape, he was fine, and he was raring to go." Said a surprised Price.

"I don't think anyone was more shocked than me to here the fight was off."

Rumours surround the Haye situation as to the fact that Setanta will be paying David Haye's share of the fight as part of his TV deal with the broadcaster.

It is alleged Haye will receive no gate money nor TV revenue from other countries as part of his agreement with the Klitschko brothers.

Setanta allegedly failed to pay £3m to the Scottish Premiership League on Monday, then within a couple of days David Haye withdrew from the fight with an alleged 'back injury'.

The SPL board held a conference call on Wednesday to discuss the problems with Setanta.

One SPL chairman said that there was more work to be done as the broadcaster sought further backing from its investors.

He told BBC Scotland that a decision could be reached by Friday and expressed unhappiness at the lack of information coming from the SPL board.

"There is a certain period by which Setanta will have to pay up - and we are talking weeks not months," he said.

"We'll do everything we can to keep them going, but we'll then have to decide whether to stick with them or dump them."

Well, well! Having failed to pay the Scottish Premier League £3M, there has to be some doubt in respect of what Haye would or would not have been paid had the bout gone ahead as scheduled?

If & when Haye-Klitszcho does happen, something tells me it probably will not be on Setanta!

Jeez they paid sooo much for those scottish tv rights, IDIOTS! Did they really think they'd get many subscribers from showing crappy scottish footie matches. The standard is like conference in england, which funnily enough they also show but I doubt they paid the massive millions they paid for scottish footie.

It's a real shame if Setanta does go to the wall but they should have focussed on their core things like premiership footie, foreign footie league matches which Im sure were miles cheaper than the scottish deal and of course boxing. SOunds like a lot of mismanagement.

I’ve been told by a source that David Haye isn’t injured. Setanta have until the end of June to find something like 45 million. They failed to pay the Scottish Premier League £3m they owe them. They need to pay the Premier League £35m this month.

Haye wants to get paid, as he’s not 100% certain he can win. So he doesn’t want to lose, which could be. His only decent payday. If he loses then his stock goes down.

He said David Haye even approached Sky. Asking them to pick up the fight but they turned it down. Setanta asked Sky for a loan which they also turned down. Sky are hoping Setanta will lose subscribers because of this farce, which will put the final nail in the coffin.

David Haye had to pull out with an injury because Wladimir Klitschko would sue. David Hayes injury will be healed in just 3 weeks for a few reasons. Setanta will most likely be gone by July, they need to make the June deadline. They are looking for investors. If Setanta folds, then Sky would be willing to broadcast the fight in July. By only needing 3 weeks. David Haye was hoping that Wladimir Klitschko would agree to postpone the fight. The David would get paid by Setanta or Sky depending on whether Setanta can get any investors by the end of June.
